Bratwurst 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I decided Gado was expendable. Could be a huge mistake. I waived him for Eddie Kennison. Crazy? Like a fox. See, someone waived Jacksonville Defense. Brett Favre is also available. My league doesn't penalize for waiver moves, I am 7th all year, no matter how many moves I make. Buckhalter and Moats are also available, so this is my plan. Later tonight I waive Kennison for Buckhalter ... then I waive him for Favre tomorrow night. If Favre goes off, maybe I can deal him, if Westy gets hurt I have time to get Buckhalter, or Moats. In the end, I hope to get the Jacksonville Defense! If Favre sucks, again, I'll waive him or Brunell for Jax D.

Bratwurst 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I decided to take it to another level. Waived Brunell too. So, effectively Brunell and Gado for Favre and Buckhalter (handcuff). But also, nobody can pick up Gado, Brunell or Kennison until Monday. And while people scramble for them my Buckhalter for Jacksonville D waiver should get through. ETA: Also waived J. Brown for J. Carney ... Seattle homers should be all over that!

BMoney 0 Posted September 16, 2006 waiving people just to keep them from being picked up by someone else is weak....
Bratwurst 0 Posted September 16, 2006 waiving people just to keep them from being picked up by someone else is weak.... Why? Isn't that a calculated risk I take by waiting until the end of the week? I waived three players on my roster for 3 available players ... and Eddie Kennison got runover in the process. I have Westbrook insurance for the week, and if it doesn't pay off, I pick up Jacksonville D. Seems ... pretty damn smart to me!
GettnHuge 2 Posted September 16, 2006 is kennison going to be throwing the ball to himself?
Bratwurst 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I hope he does go off this week. So someone else puts in a waiver claim for him, rather than Jax D.
BMoney 0 Posted September 16, 2006 arent i reading this right? you are cutting guys just to lock the, up and so no one else can nab them tonight or saturday? its the case..it isnt cool... if u have kennison anywhere near your roster, it isnt going to be a playoff roster anyway..so amuse yourself, i guess... but i think its weak...dont pick up someone just to waive him and lock him up... cgod 0 Posted September 16, 2006 waiving people just to keep them from being picked up by someone else is weak.... I agree. That's why I like transaction fees or limitations. I like you better when you're suggesting whacky recipies. Get back in the kitchen and make some sammiches!!!
Bratwurst 0 Posted September 16, 2006 What am I supposta let the players slip by? You guys are like when Strahan broke the sack record. Even if it was a gimme, what are you gonna do, throw up your hands and say, "Nope, I wanna earn it!" when you been chasing the man, all game. IT COUNTS! Like I said to Tarhole earlier ... "Just because you don't understand, doesn't mean I'm the stupid one." Uncool? Sure, if you are abusive, and I could have picked up and waived several more payers. Like I said, waived 3 players, picked up 3 players off waivers. Eddie Kennison ... nobody was gonna pick him up anyway ... but I don't feel guilty making sure my opponent can't start him against me this week. I'd be stupid to NOT try and use waivers to my advantage. Right?
crackattack 520 Posted September 16, 2006 I agree.....weak. Thats why we charge for each add and drop, plus we have a rule that states, any player picked up off waiver wire must remain on your roster for two weeks. I figure if there good enough to be picked up, there good enough to hold on to.

Right? if your team is that crappy that u fear kennison beating you...you have more problems than just your lack of integrity and decency.... a calculated risk is leaving someone on the FA wire for one more week because u think he will have a rough outing vs a team and u think u can nab him later... a calculated risk is NOT picking up, dropping..just to keep people from goin on and having a chance to better their team..you are making the league a big pile of crap...that, is being the ff league fp award... i hope the team that wanted kennison is a team playing your rival..i hope u miss the playoffs in your cheat league because the rival benefitted from his opponent not getting the FAs he wanted.. though i wouldnt pat yourself on the back TOO much..those fa choices arent worth you cheating over..im sure there are better on the fa market... cmh6476 1,012 Posted November 20, 2023 12 team ppr, need to prep for a playoff run on a team with limited roster spots Mahomes Ekeler, Kamara, Mostert, Jerome Ford, Singletary Marquise Brown, Ridley, Nacua, Diontae Johnson Kittle Elliott Browns Charbonnet is on the wire, and I probably need to pounce if I want him. Is it worth giving up Ford (who is 89% rostered) but seemingly splitting carries now with Hunt, for Charbonnet who is only 44% rostered but could be a playoff gem? I’d give up Dionte before Ford even though you’re stacked at RB.

Diontae is 85% owned, where the available FAs are: Smith-Njigba 64% Noah Brown 49% Shaheed 45% Elijah Moore 42% Jayden Reed 36%

I’m not dropping that over a guy with as limited am upside as Dionte.
