phillybear 366 Posted October 20, 2006 Overall College YTD: 138-124-4; +15.37 units Subset: 2 unit plays or higher: 59-50-1; +17.82 units CFL: 18-10; +16.55 units Friday West Virginia 1st Q (-6.5)@-140 for 1 unit LOSER West Virginia 1st H (-13.5) for 2 units WINNER!! West Virginia (-23.5) for 2 units WINNER!! Adding WV 2nd H (-10.5)@-115 for 2 units LOSER!! Toronto (-6.5) for 2 units LOSER!! Don't have time for much of a write up tonight. West Virginia is the #1 ranked rushing offense in Division 1A at 328 rush yards per game with a 6.9 average. Uconn is the #106 ranked rushing defense giving up more then 209 yards per game. (255 last three games). UConn got shredded by Navy for almost 500 yards rushing a couple of weeks ago. West Virginia is winning by an average of 29 points per game, beating up better teams that this lousy UConn team. West Virginia tends to get out to quick leads, so I am playing them to get the lead early. Toronto is fighting to win first place in their division. Saskatchewan has little to play for, destined to finish in 3rd in their division, and will be playing on the road in the playoffs. The game is more much more meaningful for this Toronto team, playing very well down the stretch, winning 8 of their last 9 games. Good luck to all.

chiz3 1 Posted October 20, 2006 After a horrible last Sat. I hope to rebound. Had UVA and C.Mich lat night(but also had the over in STl/NYM for a loser) to start to ease the lingering pain. College YTD 33-22(incl last night) last week 2-5 Tonight WVU -24. There is no way I could not take them. they shouldve covered last week too. Bad memeories for most of us. The only thing that scares me about WV is when they get their big lead, their second and third units suck and are thugs that get nothing but personal fouls, allowing those backdoors, or having to sweat em out. Still going with them though.GL

rjconley48105 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Here are my picks for the week. Forget to post sometimes ND -14 Michigan -13.5 (homer) Been fun watching that D and alot of Iowa players out Texas -6.5 Wisconsin -6.5 They are rolling Org -3.5 All for 1 unit
phillybear 366 Posted October 21, 2006 Adding WV 2nd H (-10.5)@-115 for 2 units I am playing with house money after getting lucky with the 1st H cover. WV has looked bad, but their coaches have to figure out UConn is stacking the box, and they have to throw. And Pat White is hot with completions. UConn is a running team down 17. They have to throw, and UConn can't throw. WV to pull away in the second half. HD, drinking Bacardi Rum with a diet Black Cherry soda chaser. With an occasional beer. Diabetic, and my options are limited. By the way, I am in one in of the worst slumps in college ball in a long while. Think twice, and tread carefully, before following my picks. I will turn it around. But I don't want to bury anyone waiting for me to get hot again. And Toronto is still down 13-8. Ugh.
GiantsRule 0 Posted October 21, 2006 OK guys, need a consensus here: I took W. Virginia Team Total Over 36 (they only went below 40 points once all season). CT's defense is holding up better than expected. WV managed only 20 points in the first half and the under is set at 17 (at big juice). Only two options here (betting Over isn't one of them): A. Do I take Under 17 and hope that WV scores exactly 16 or 17 points? B. Do I stand pat because WV will more than likely score 20 or more in the 2nd half? Hate to keep being in these hedging situations, but the lines are just getting sharper and sharper as the season goes on.

Nap 0 Posted October 21, 2006 This will be my first time to officially post my "picks", and I'm not an expert by any means, but here goes: Arizona State -23 Notre Dame -13 Tennessee -11 And for the "can't miss" pick that I would lay a TON of units on: Ole Miss +21 at Arkansas Rationale: Arkansas is my favorite team, and the school I graduated from. I follow them very closely, but I have never placed a bet against them because my heart won't allow it. I made a similar pick with the Seattle Seahawks last week, and turned out right (line was 3, Seahawks won by less). Arkansas, in my opinion, does not deserve the #13 slot in the BCS rankings. They played lights out against Auburn and have received a HUGE boost as a result. However, they are very young and undisciplined. They traditionally play down to the level of their competition. While I think the Hogs will still win this weekend against Ole Miss, it will NOT be by 21 points. It will be more like 10. I am VERY confident in this pick. Look at all the other results of Arkansas' games this year and you will see what I'm talking about (most notably the 'Bama game under similar circumstances and level of competition). For the first time, I'm actually playing this one, hoping my Hogs can get the win, and yet still let me make some money! Good luck!
