iceblumist610 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Philly, why so high on Ohio? I know it's Buffalo that they're playing, but it doesn't seem to me that they should be laying three scores to anybody. And they've played quite badly in both games that they've been expected to win. I'm actually thinking of playing UB here.

needmoremoney 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Not a good week so far, but I think I found my game of the week...Wisconsin -6.5. Neither team has really defeated top notch teams but Wisconsin's defense is superior to any that Purdue has faced all year. I am on the Wisconsin bandwagon this week as they should continue their rhythm at the Boilermakers. Purdue's streak of lopsided wins have always been against soft defenses and teams at the bottom half of their conferences. This year, Wisconsin has one of the largest o-lines protecting Stocco and opening holes for their running game. Cross my fingers b/c this is my biggest play of the year. Bet with me with caution as I tend to bet bigger and more frequently when I'm ahead. I really need to stop betting 2H lines..... 1-4 this week. Yer mom 2 Posted October 21, 2006 Well, looks like im gonna place one.... The line has moved in favor of the over a few times in the past 15 minutes. Generally its the movements within like 5-20 minutes of the game that hit at the high percentage but im going to play this anyway and see what happens..... WVA/Conn Over 49.5 Good Luck!! LOL...it just dropped to 49 Guess this should make it a loser... Good Luck!! And....once again. Its my own fault for not waiting till we got a bit closer to kickoff. 5-10 minutes before the game started the line dropped and sure enough it stayed under. Hate to be on the losing end of an "experimental wager" which I screwed up by jumping in too early anyway, but the point at least held true. These are hitting at a really high percentage right now. If I go cold here at some point (I love you wagering gods ) I may play these "just before kickoff" line moves exclusively for a bit to see what happens! Good Luck tomorrow!! GiantsRule 0 Posted October 21, 2006 I'm going to be out of town most of the weekend for a first wedding anniversary excursion...with the wife! Just want to wish you all the best of luck. Here's what I took (based mostly on Ditka with Yer Mom's and Art's top plays thrown in): Hawaii-New Mexico Over 75 Wisconsin-Purdue Under 56 Tennessee -10 Rutgers +7 Indiana +31 Texas A&M +4 Oregon -3 Nebraska +6 Maryland -1.5 Miami-Fla -10 (1st half) And as always, a small parlay on the above (except Miami) in case the boys remain ultra hot; a small reverse parlay (the opposite of the above except Miami) in case hell freezes over and we have an "0-for." My top (and only) NFL play for Sunday is a three-team parlay. Hoping this "non-trend" of the over hitting in the 4 p.m. games holds true again: Redskins-Colts Over 48.5 Vikes-Seahawks Over 41 Cards-Raiders Over 40 Best of luck to all of you. Let's work on turning this slump around! Added: UNLV +

I follow Washington pretty closely (second favorite team after Arkansas), and their season is OVER. Stanback's injury has the entire team in a somber, defeated mood, and no one else can step up. Carl Bonnell will be the QB, and he's horrible right now. 23 points is a lot to give up, and Washington is capable of playing anyone tough (ala USC a few weeks ago). But it seems like Cal gets better and better each week, and now that the BCS standings are out, the better teams have more incentive I believe for racking up victory points. UW has a horrible secondary, in my opinion, and give up a lot of big plays. I see Marshawn Lynch having a field day, and the final score in the neighborhood of.... California: 44 Washington: 13 I'm not betting this game, since I hate going against my teams, but I think taking Cal -23 is a decent line. Everyone keeps touting the Hawaii/NMSU over/under line, and I would like to get in on it, but it's not available at either sportsbetting.com or bodog.com last I looked. Where can I get some of that action?

brzrboy 0 Posted October 21, 2006 So, under sportsbooks college "fantasy football" props, they have 8 or 9 games listed on which team will score more points. One of them really stands out to me. Texas -.5 vs. Oklahoma. Yes, Texas is on the road at Nebraska, but they are averaging 42 pts a game. I see Texas scoring a minimum of 21 points, more likely around 30 or 35. Nebraska's "blackshirt" defense hasn't impressed me that much, especially by allowing 32 points to a mediocre KU offense at home. On the OU side, they are playing Colorado at home. Colorado finally got their first win last week, holding Texas Tech to 6 points. CU's defense has been solid all year despite the 1-6 record. Colorado is only giving up 19 pts a game, and OU is without Adrian Petersen. How is this not a slam dunk? I guess it's possible OU scores 28 and Texas only scores 24, but I just don't see that happening. Philly and Ditka, why are you high on Nebraska tomorrow? You think they will be able to shut Texas down?

I don't know much about Washington's backup QB. That is the million dollar question and will be the deciding factor if Cal covers. I'd feel more comfortable teasing this game. Washington is a dangerous team but their season likely just ended with Stanback's injury. I'd lean towards Cal but am leary of this line.

The last few weeks I concentrated on picking less games so I don't end up paying more juice splitting games......just trying to decide if this one is worth it?? any thoughts? I can't play Washington without Stanback, and Cal is killing everybody right now. Cal didn't look good in their last game vs Wash St, capitalizing on turnovers, so I hate to lay the chalk in a game that could be a let down. I don't like the game. Philly, why so high on Ohio? I know it's Buffalo that they're playing, but it doesn't seem to me that they should be laying three scores to anybody. And they've played quite badly in both games that they've been expected to win. I'm actually thinking of playing UB here. Ohio U beat No Ill and Western Mich, and can win their division by winning out. Buffalo, despite being a bit better this year, is still 0-26 SU on the road against .125 or better league teams with the average margin of loss 29 points per game. Philly and Ditka, why are you high on Nebraska tomorrow? You think they will be able to shut Texas down? Texas has been winning and covering with turnovers the last couple of games vs Oklahoma and Baylor. Not that I think Nebraska will shut down Texas, but I don't think Texas will slow down the Nebrask offense, averaging about 450 yards per game. Nebraska is a live home dog. Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted October 21, 2006 I usually won't second guess plays. But I also won't hedge a bet. Clemson seems to get up for big games. Iowa has been very up and down but I think Michigan who is a little beat up to be looking to far forward. UCLA is simply a pick from the majority of guys in here. phillybear 366 Posted October 21, 2006 UCLA is simply a pick from the majority of guys in here. I might be wrong, but I think Notre Dame is 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games. They seem to be favored by too many points every game.
Yer mom 2 Posted October 21, 2006 I understand. Don't know what I'l do though. I guess I'll have to check the lines. Maybe I'll buy Pitt back for the juice and and add UCLA & Iowa. I personally still dont see how Rutgers should cover this line, but it keeps dropping in favor of Rutgers covering, and the board consensus is that they will, so im backing off and rooting for you guys. The morning games on my TV suck, nothing standing out so waiting out until half at least. All I really need today is Hawaii and NM State to shoot it out and i'll clean house. Teaser would be a nice hit too though. Maids coming in 45 minutes and one of my ex's is flying into town at noon. Nap 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Guys, a lot of people still live Arkansas, but I'm want to caution you all. Arkansas will NOT win by more than 20 points, trust me. I wrote an extended post about this earlier in the thread, but just remember that there are several factors that lead me to think Arkansas will win by 7-10 points. 45 minutes until Arkansas kicks off! It's my only "sure thing" this weekend.
Duffman 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Nebraska (+5) for 2 units Iowa (+12.5) As much as a I respect Philly, I went the other way on these. Iowa was over hyped before when they faced the Buckeyes and then get punked by the Hoosiers. Mich 33 Iowa 13 Texas will roll the Huskers. I think they get "hooked" big time.
