I'm pretty sure at this point, that MacGay is the biggest joke on this board right now. He gets caught in lies all the time. He threatens to kick people's asses, but when they call him out, he just tells them they aren't nice.

He says Philly is going to lose every week and when he's right, he acts like he knows something, but when he's wrong (like last week against Washington), he just brings up the week schedule. When I do research and PROVE that Philly's wins are against more quality opponents than all but two NFC contenders, he has nothing to say.

Quite frankly, they've worn me out this year. I figure this: if they're not willing to put forth the effort ever game, why should I put forth the effort to cheer them on, to go to the game, to get up at 6:30 in the morning to start cooking for the tailgate, etc.?

I think you don't know how it felt being a Tampa fan in the 80's and early 90's. I admitted to it and knew sooner or later they would turn it around now they are geting older on Defense and need to start rebuilding on some crucial areas before it's back to 4-12 seasons every year. I'd love to see a link to any post by an Eagles fan during the preseason where he stated that they were the class of the division.

I'm not saying that here aren't any, but I garauntee that I didn't ever say that.

In fact, I can remember specifically posting how happy i was that the majority of "experts" had the Eagles picked to finish last in their division.

I think that most Eagles' fans were like me, a bit apprehensive about 2006. We all knew that the other teams made moves to make them stronger, while it remained to be seen if the Eagles could bounce back from the team disection that Terrell Owens caused or the injuries to McNabb and Westbrook.

Eagles fans should cheer up a bit, I think. I remember reading almost identical posts back when McNabb broke his ankle, and AJ Feely led them to the playoffs.

 

I had the same feeling heading into last season when Rex Grossman's ankle snapped, and Kyle Orton lead the Bears to the playoffs.

 

The Bears were such a defensive juggernaut last year that they could have played Bruce Gradkowski and won.

The Eagles aren't built like the Bears. They have an average defense, below average special teams, and average wide receivers.

Other than Brian Westbrook, McNabb IS this team. When they were leading the NFC East early on, it was soilely because of McNabb. He was everyone's choice for MVP. He even made Dante Stallworth, who is a Saints reject, look like a number one receiver.

Everyone saw how his absense sucked the heart out of the team yesterday. Granted, they were down 7-3 when he got hurt, but they were in Tennessee territory. As soon as he got hurt, they folded.

I think you're probably going to see that for the rest of the year.

There were probably ten NFC teams with more talent than Philadelphia, even when McNabb was in there. He was not your average quarterback. He was dynamic. He wasn't just the best player on the team, he was their undisputed leader.

You could tell by the reaction of the Titan players when he was injured on the sideline, just how special and well-respected he is.

After Owens was kicked off last year, Philly still played tough. As soon as McNabb was lost, they collapsed. Sure, I'd like to think that Garcia (or Feely) could somehow play decent enough to get Philly a few more wins, but I wouldn't bet on it. Teams wuill now be able to focus on stopping Westbrook, something they couldn't do with McNabb in there.
