Chris Collinsworth, much as I hate him, is a good commentator in the booth. I don't know about Bryant Gumbel though. His voice annoys the crap out of me and I don't think he knows the first thing about football.

 

As for the presentation, it seems pretty good to me. I like how they are using different camera angles than the network broadcasts.

The red and black banner at the top of the screen with the game info. is irritating. Normally that banner is more transparent; this one is a solid bar. Not good.

Yeah you are right about the bar. Its a little too dominant on the screen, kind of makes it hard to focus on the action.

Said Gonzo would have caught the ball easily but I doubt it - it was an awful throw.

The HD quality is pretty bad too. The closeups on the Chiefs players with their bright red uniforms is a mess.

 

Bryant just said Adam Meadows' return is "debatable." That's a new injury status. Does it fall in between "possible" and "uncertain"?

Gumbel doesn't know jack. The way Hall just fielded that punt was ridiculously stupid, he could've easily given that ball right over to Denver inside the 10 with that play, and Gumbel just announces it likes its nothing and they cut straight to commercial. What they clearly needed there was Collinsworth telling everybody that Hall gambled and it could have gone very bad.

The analysis is actually pretty good. It was nice to see the sideline commentary (Faulk) talking run/pass strategy rather than just spouting some crap that the coach or one of the players told him before the game.

I like the variety. Not to jump on the Bryan Gumbel trash talking bandwagon but I think that Faulk, Eisen, or even Theisman would do a better job than Gumball... He just corrected himself on 8 games not 10 games on the NFL network....

The mini version is a lot better, they should stick with that.

 

As for the announcing team, Gumbel is terrible and needs to go. Collinsworth is great though, and thats quite a compliment coming from me considering I can't see his smarmy mug for one second without wanting to punch him in the face.

 

Marshall Faulk is awesome, I like that little guy. They should use him more on the sidelines and replace Gumbel in the booth. I think another former player would be great. They ought to make it in to a "by the players, for the players" type of broadcast.

I also think Gumbel sucks and Collinsworth is good. I couldn't take any more of Gumbel so I switched the audio over to Sirius for the radio broadcasts

Don't have NFL network. The radio broadcast on Westwood One appears to be much more professional. They don't seem to be missing as much as the NFL Network. Sounds like Enberg and Trumpy, but I am not sure. If you have NFL network, might want to watch and listen to radio broadcast.
