Just want to throw out a big TY to Bears Still Suck for sharing this and those who tried to help me get it working. I never did get it working but it is truely a great place to be where people are willing to help a hack like me try to get some great technology. BTW, how bad's the weather out there? A good friend of mine was in Green Bay for business, and he said the weather was bad, so much so he was afraid to fly out tonite.

Not bad, just cold. Single digits and wind chill in the - #'s. As a frequent traveler, nothing to worry about. God how I can't wait to move to FL next fall and retire.

wow, SOPcast is sweet!!

 

ive left it on after the game and NFL Network is still playing....about 5 hours later!!

i wonder if i can just leave it on all week and watch some of the NFL replay boradcasts too...

What pisses me off the most... is that the $10 a month streaming audio that I BOUGHT from the damn NFL network themselves... is blacked out. That's how big of a bastard the NFL is being about their network broadcasts. They've blacked out their other customers to try to scam in more.

sopcast is simply P2P software... it's not a service, nor is it a "streaming site". if the NFL wants to shut down sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/12993, they'll need to talk to whoever is streaming it, not sopcast. further, if you're having any quality issues with it, it's due to any number of technical issues... the streamer's upstream connections might be maxed, there may be connectivity/bandwidth issues between you and the streamer, or maybe you need to patch your tcpip.sys to unlimited connections (and no, i'm not going to walk anyone through how to do that).

 

if you're really desperate, the 2.2.1 beta23 version of tvu used to be able to see channels not in the channel list... i don't know if it'll work in this case, because tvu://10064 definitely seems to be down. other than that, the more persistant of you might be able to sustain a connection after the hordes have given up... but now that P2PTV is all over every football forum, i doubt it.

just to clarify something before someone misunderstands me and "calls" me on it. with P2PTV (like most P2P), you upload while you download... which is why opening up your tcpip.sys can help. so yes, the more people streaming the better the overall experience should be... but not at first when everyone's trying to negotiate a stable connection. in other words, if it seems a bit rocky right now, just be patient and don't constantly cycle your connection... it'll all even out eventually.

also, if you've got a stream recorder like pprecorder (i'm sure there's better ones out there), you can even record multiple streams for later viewing. it's kind of fun having your own library of game film... comes in handy if you ever want to look up a specific play or whatever.
