I'll never understand why we aren't more aggressive about getting out there. Whatever happened to that passionate American exploration spirit?

 

We've lost 3,000 people in that futile cause in Iraq, piled atop another 58,000 in that futile cause in Vietnam. Our highways are filled with daily human carnage, and smoking kills thousands of people daily.

 

And yet the space program gets all skeered because a handful of people die in the name of space exploration and research

 

We should have at least gone to Mars by now and be mining a colonized moon for Helium 3.

 

Stupid focking humans and all their stupid self-centered interests and self-serving causes.

 

For fock's sake, create a gigantic nuclear-powered spacecraft, load it up with adventurous souls and blast them out there to live, procreate and explore until they smash into a meteor or something.
