dcOne 2 Posted February 26, 2007 It would be great for fantasy football. Why would run and shoot be better than a current offense for fantasy fooball?
Ignition Technition 0 Posted February 26, 2007 This article pretty much explains why you wont see the Run and Shoot in the pro's. Good read http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2006/07/2...minicamps/4031/
HTH 67 Posted February 26, 2007 Why would run and shoot be better than a current offense for fantasy fooball? Good point. I guess these days 4 wr sets are pretty common. The Pats have sort of made it into an art form.

DrJ 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Cause unless you're the Texans, when you invest millions into a QB you usually like to keep him upright every couple of downs.

sirensong 111 Posted February 26, 2007 don't have time to read the posted article, so here's the short, short version: 1--RNS is 1-dimensional. the defense can afford to give up a few 10yd draws in order to create consistent pressure on the QB. therefore, the RNS allows more creativity by the opposing DC. 2--due to the extensive use of cover 2 schemes in the RZ, the RNS is piss-poor inside the 20. huge yardage, but not a lot of points. 3--QB mortality rate. 4--need an elite back to generate any kind of running game. even the TE-based "fun and gun" of the lions was unworkable without sanders. in the cap era, a top-quality RB, in addition to top QB/WR/OL means no defense whatsoever. LunaTick 29 Posted February 27, 2007 It would be great for fantasy football. When has this strategy won a SB? Until this happens, no one will go for it.
