cmh6476 767 Posted April 5, 2007 the freakin jays/ tiggers postponment sucks from a royals fan perspective we would have had to face Chad Durbin on Saturday, but since today's game was cancelled due to cold weather ( ), looks like it'll be: Fri: verlander v de la rosa Sat: maroth v meche Sun: bonderman v duckworth verlander was suppossed to go today
Big Blue 06 195 Posted April 5, 2007 The Royals will take 1 of 3 (maybe). They should be happy with that and move on.
cmh6476 767 Posted April 7, 2007 royals take the 1st game, 1-1 tie going into the 3rd royals only have one lefty in the lineup today, both gordon and teahen getting trhe day off...
yostevo 0 Posted April 7, 2007 Maybe it's the weather or maybe just a slow start but the Tigers middle relief has been their undoing in all 3 games thus far. They are lucky to have gotten a win out of the three. Even in that game we were up 9-0 and ended up winning 10-9.
swamp dog 0 Posted April 7, 2007 the $55 million dollar man meche hits the hard wall called "reality" today with kc fans riding in the back seat: ip=7; hits=8; r=6; er=6; bb=2; k=4; hr=3. oops. you know, just because you give somebody a fat raise doesn't mean he's going to (or can) raise his game. If the Royals annual funeral weren't sad enough, you bust out a rendition of "Taps" on their asses. Seriously, no need for the salt in the wound. We were just as pathetic about 370 days ago. grilli could be cut tomorrow to no ill effect. they have to have a couple of kids in the minors capable of doing his role better than that. fortunately, zum and jones have been locked and loaded. and ordonez might not thaw out until june at this rate. I never understand the reasoning for Grilli on the roster. He is just so average at best. Rodney may have an impressive change up but why would it matter if he can't get ahead of the hitters? If he's constantly 3-1 on the batters that change up looks like a beach ball in the middle of the plate. I will reserve judgement on Mesa for now but he's next on the chopping block. cmh6476 767 Posted April 8, 2007 1 bad start does not a season make also, we'll take tomorrows game and improve to .500. Then the vicious road trip begins

Then the vicious road trip begins true. but after game 1 you weren't here saying "1 good start does not a season make" btw: riske sucks. but i have a hunch you probably figured that out by now. cmh6476 767 Posted April 9, 2007 as a royals fan, you have to be impressed thus far with our starting pitching. Meche had a good outing and a bad outing, but if he can eat up near 200 innings with an ERA under 4.5 and get maybe 12-15 wins, that's about all you expect there. Greinke looked very good all spring, and that carried into his matchup vs dice-k. Hopefully he will pull together for an outstanding season and be our opening day starter next year. De La Rosa had a very nice outing, as did Duckworth and Perez kept us in his game vs Boston. None of the losses are on the pitcher's shoulders just yet, we just havent got our bats going yet. I'm wondering if we might be better off playing Sanders in the OF and Teahen at 3rd until Gordon starts doing something...
