jocstrap 8 Posted April 24, 2007 Why buy one of those games when you can get a pc game at 40 dollars? There are 10x better games that can be played on a computer than xbox. Just my opinion
RicemanX 20 Posted April 24, 2007 If you love first person shooters and will be playing those most of the time, get a 360. Games like Gears of War and Ghost Recon look amazing on that machine. Throw in that Halo 3 will be released this year. FPS lovers will LOVE this machine. All other uses for a gaming system...get a PS3
Big_Pete 0 Posted April 24, 2007 I say get the XBOX, cause it has way more games. Even the "playstation only" games are out on the xbox now. Plus xbox live if you like that sort of thing. I may not play games but for a few hours a year, but the xbox is the way to go anyways
bostonlager 2,665 Posted April 24, 2007 Its all about game selection. PS3 doesn't really have any good titles out yet. Get the 360.
Big_Pete 0 Posted April 24, 2007 Its all about game selection. PS3 doesn't really have any good titles out yet. Get the 360. plus I read an article yesterday (the guy I work with brought in a gaming magazine), which was saying how all the PS exclusive games were all but extinct, meaning that xbox now has those titles as well. About the only games out there that people go bonkers over that are still PS exclusives are GTA, Grand Tourismo, GOW... pretty much all the others are now available on both the XBOX and PS. So you take that into consideration, and then you see that the XBOX has alot of exclusive games AND many more games than PS3, and it's cheaper w/better online play, and it wins in a landslide. football_scooter 0 Posted April 24, 2007 It's all about gameplay. get a Wii. I have one, 3 of my friends have them...they cost $250, so you can get 3 games and still be under either MS or Sony. Nintendo are the masters of arcade games from way back in the day. They "get it". They make FUN games. The Wii controllers are so interactive - we had a party the other night (poker) and all the wives were playing Rampage (yes, the arcade game - I got it for $30) and all 4 were laughing their asses off having the time of their lives - and all 4 of them used to HATE video games. Madden is a whole new experience having to pass the ball, and for racing games the old style "pushing buttons to go left and right" is ovah and dead. Nintendo is the ultimate natural feel ergonomic controller. If you want pretty, boring 1st person shooters, buy an XBox. If you want pretty, decent games, and want to shell out $850 (console+controller+games+) go for a PS3. But if you want to have a blast with friends or alone, get the Wii. Talk about economical - you can play gamecube games on it, and you can download classic Nintendo games from the Internet with the built in wireless. All of the 2nd gen Wii games will be networked as well. Oh, and the new Zelda is the bomb for RPGs. Do yourself a favor and check out the Wii - ask people who have one how they like it. Play some games on it. Wii "gets it". IMO blows PS3 and XBox out of the water. And this way I didn't have to give Bill Gates or Sony any more money.
usurpers26 26 Posted April 24, 2007 I've played on all 3 systems - get a 360. -PS3 is the most technologically advanced (according to Sony)...but so what (right now at least). Unless you really want a bluray capable machine, save your money -Wii is *really* fun - but only if you are playing with others the majority of the time -360 has a LOT of great games out now (both single and multi-player) and their online service is by far the best (even though it's ~$50/year)
surferskin 30 Posted April 24, 2007 wait til the end of the month and get the xbox 360 elite. Why buy one of those games when you can get a pc game at 40 dollars? There are 10x better games that can be played on a computer than xbox. Just my opinion
Guest Davaco Posted April 24, 2007 it all depends on what you have and what you want out of a system. do you have a 1080p tv? want high def dvds? dont care about online play if so, get a ps3, when they have some games out if you want great games now, exclusive games later (halo, gears of war 2 ), get a 360. 720p is good enough and they have xbox live to boot. and its cheaper
Sergeant Bri 0 Posted April 24, 2007 wait til the end of the month and get the xbox 360 elite. i'm going to go with 360 as well. the 360 elite is a nice option if you don't mind shelling out a bit more. Why buy one of those games when you can get a pc game at 40 dollars? There are 10x better games that can be played on a computer than xbox. There are a couple of reasons why people like consoles: 1) It's more of a living-room type of device. 2) It's a standardized platform that doesn't change. You can buy the latest XBox game today and it will play perfectly on the XBox you've had for 8 or 10 years.
usurpers26 26 Posted April 24, 2007 Also - my PC only has a 20" monitor with 2 speakers...my 360 has a 60" with 5.1 i'm going to go with 360 as well. the 360 elite is a nice option if you don't mind shelling out a bit more. hellothere 1 Posted April 24, 2007 another vote for a 360 i have one and love it, a friend has a ps3 and ive played on his and wasn't very impressed with the games i played or online connectivity compared to a 360 (get the xbox live, it really makes it)

Big_Pete 0 Posted April 24, 2007 im going to get the xbox360 today thanks for all the replys get the elite, it comes out in less than a week. listen to surferskin. The elite is like $80 more, but you get soooo much more. That is, if you can wait a week. And if you get xbox live, download "geometry wars" trust me, that game is focking aWesome!!! (and a whopping $4-5) also, I have a wii as well, and the only reason I play it is cause I can download old nintendo/super nintendo/turbografix 16/sega/genesis games. That is 99% of the fun for the wii. I was arguing with my brother (lives with me) about the wii, and I kept saying that it's a waste of money to buy it if all you really want it for is old games, seeing you can download emulators/roms on your computer for free and play them all anyways, but he talked me into it, and well, it's definatly cooler to play games on your 180" HDTV front projector than a 20" computer screen I have the 360 and wii, as well as other systems. I can't wait for Fable 2 to come out. I know I only play a few hours of games a year, but Fable had me hooked for many hours, and I'd play it over and over again (then got the lost chapters and did the same), so I have high hopes for Fable 2, although I looked up clips for it, and all I see are the developers focking around with some dog ingame Ohh, and fable 2 is an xbox exclusive game
usurpers26 26 Posted April 24, 2007 The only differences are the 120gb drive and HDMI...supposedly it runs cooler but my premium has never has a heat issue so I'm not taking into consideration the "cooler running" factor. Unless you think you'll fill up the 20gb drive on the premium - I don't know if it's worth it. Yes, HDMI avoids a DAC - but most people can't see the difference and the sound capabilities are a moot point since most people connect directly to a receiver. I would buy it if wifi was built in as well as the rumored 65nm chips...but that's just me. listen to surferskin. The elite is like $80 more, but you get soooo much more. usurpers26 26 Posted April 24, 2007 What's new in the PS3 online world or is it the same as it was for the PS2? If it is - it's a joke compared to XBL. Playstation has online, except you dont have to pay.
Big_Pete 0 Posted April 24, 2007 Playstation has online wanna be xbox live, but it's vastly inferior, except you dont have to pay. fixxxed I wouldn't want to pay for the "online" version that playstation has out right now either

Missions, etc, get boring, especially once you've beaten the game. I beat Gears in 2 weeks of owning it. I've been playing it online (at times, every night for weeks straight) since December, and it never gets old because you're always playing with different people. I bought a 1 month subs when I got my Xbox. Took me 3 days to realize I was going to need more. Just bought it online through XBOX live. Also, since you'll have a new account, you get a month free. Post your XBL username out here...I'll look you and we'll play some Gears.
