Rusty Syringes 478 Posted June 5, 2007 I remember the first time I heard that thing. It was 1988, and I was bummed about music in general because it was in one of those periodic lulls, kind of like it is now in some ways and like it was during the early 1980s. I was at my desk, and this dude I worked with came over with a cassette player with headphones and said, "Man check this sh!t out!" It blew my mind, and I went out and bought the album that day. Had that band not fallen off the tracks after Ritual De Lo Habitual, another fine album, I think they could have gotten Led Zeppelin-sized gigantic. I saw Van Halen as the Led Zeppelin of the 1980s and Jane's Addiction as the potential Led Zeppelin of the 1990s, but it didn't happen. I also like "Strays" a lot.
