My team:

QB: Brady/Rivers/Frye

RB: Caddy/Julius Jones/Betts/Morency/S Morris/Shipp

WR: Wayne/Colston/Porter/James Jones

TE: Shockey

His team:

QB: Manning/Campbell/Lefty

RB: Portis/Jacobs/M Barber/Hunt

WR: Owens/Fitz/Chambers/Matt Jones

TE: Dallas Clark/Eric Johnson

Our league scores

1 point every 10 yards rushing/receiving

1 point every 50 yards passing

6 Points for ALL TDS ( run,pass,receive)

< - 2 > for Ints thrown

I was offered:

Manning and Hunt

FOR

Brady and Betts

He obviousely wants Betts to lock up the cuff to Portis. Is there ANY reason that I should do this trade ? I mean Im thinking how many more points is Manning goint to put up over Brady ,if any ? I m thinking Betts would be a big addition to his team. Am I right on this ???

Thanks in advance

Yea I would do it because you are getting Brady in return and if Portis goes down, u just plug in Betts. I would do it. Please see mine.

Those are reasons the other guy would want the trade to go through.

I wouldn't do it personally. Manning is great, but Brady has just as much potential. Betts and Hunt are both behind injury risks, but IMO Betts is a much better player and the value doesn't meet. Try and get him to part with Barber instead.

Yeah, that guy wasn't paying attention. Oh well, it happens.

I wouldn't do the deal.

Peyton is the BEST QB - no question about that, but Brady looks to be very close behind this season, with all the weapons he has.

Betts has just as much of an oportunity to put up #s as Portis this year. In one of my leagues, he even finish as the 10th best back last season. Don't throw him into a 2 for one deal without a reason, and I just don't see one hear.

Thanks for helping with mine!

Thanks for replying to mine. :pointstosky:

I'm actually of the opposite opinion than the other replies. I like the trade in your shoes, for the following reasons:

*With the exception of one year, Manning has been a lock for 4200+ yards passing, while Brady has eclipsed 4000 yards only once. Probably not the most important point given your league's scoring system

*One key stat that took me by surprise: while Manning beat Brady in passing TDs 31-24 last year, he ALSO HAD 4 RUSHING TDs (Brady had 0). This might be due to the fact that Addai isn't the short yardage threat that Edgerrin was. I expect that trend to continue this year for Manning with another 2-4 rush TDs

As for Betts, I'm not that big of a fan. He's had chances before to be the main guy, and failed to hang on. To me, his only real value is when Portis is injured - if healthy, Portis is their guy. Period.

Better to go for the consistent, known commodity in Manning, in my opinion.

I would not do this trade. I think you could counter offer if he wants Betts that bad. There is not enough seperation between Manning and Brady for you to do this deal (also the reason 99% of Manning owners take him WAY to early). Thanks for answering mine.

This one is a tough one, but my first instinct is, "No, do not do it." I agree with what another poster above suggested: make him give you Marion Barber III. Otherwise, I think you stand pat. Also, if Portis gets dinged up a bit at some point during the season or has a nagging injury, the other owner might get desperate and overpay you for Betts. Hope this helps...and thanks for the replying to my post :headbanger:

Personally, I'd do the trade. The RBs are virtually equal in value, so it really comes down to Manning for Brady. And while Brady has a huge upside this year with all his new weapons, there's no guarantee that it will pan out that way. Meanwhile, Peyton and LT are about as close as you can get to guarantees in fantasy football.

Thank you for your reply to my post.

That said, I would decline this trade for two reasons:

1) He will pay more for betts. I am a Portis owner who failed to get betts, and I am squirming. So is he.

2) Your RB corps is, I'm sorry to say, rather weak. Your best shot at improving it is for Portis to go down, and Betts to start.

I like Manning better than Brady, but I think you are better served to either hold tight, or counter and gouge him deeper. Maybe you can swing a Betts for Barber straight up. That would help you both.

What am I missing? Is that Tony Hunt? I would do this trade in a second; it's basically Manning for Brady. The whole premise of the quandary is that Betts is going to come in for Portis when he gets hurt for the whole year, so you don't want to give him up? Just when is that going to happen?

Thanks for the input on mine. I would definitely counter offer just as someone said. I think you have more to lose than he does, and since he offered you and he NEEDS Betts, try and get a little more. I think Betts could be good if Portis goes down, and then you have a good RB. Counteroffer, its your best bet, if not, you are still set with a good team.
