The 2000 Jets and Dolphins laugh at your assessment

Agreeing with them are the 2003 Bucs and Colts.

Also, the 2005 Colts and Patriots are throwing back a few as they  in your direction

And that's just the teams in this decade!

Best ever? I'm not thinking so. Packers/Vikings from 6 or 7 years ago was just as great. There have been numerous games on MNF that was better than last night's game. Jets/Dolphins from a few years back was better than last night. No game where a team has six turnovers should be considered the greatest game ever.

Ok, OK the Jets/Dolphins gmae of 7-8 years ago still stands out... but that game did not have the same kickoff off to walk off excitement as last night did... It just didn't... MB

ps. While I love Packer/Viking games more that anyone else alive, that game only stood out due to the last goofy LUCKY ARSE play... We're not still bitter or anything...

With all of those turnovers that were not forced (i.e. good defense), that game does not even rate as a good game. It was exciting in that it was close and went down to the wire, but my son's U-6 soccer game on Saturday will also have a lot of back and forth with a game winning shot at the end.

The Colts down 21 points with less than 4 minutes left tying up the game, Vandy missing a FG only to get a 2nd chance on a TB penalty, and then nailing the kick for the win. You're still comparing last night's sloppiness to that masterpiece? Really?!?

That game last night was a slop fest.

Ken O'Brien and Wesley Walker over Marino and the Marx Brothers 51 to 45, now that was a Monday Night Football game.

Sept. 21, 1986 in NY: - The Classic Shootout - Dan Marino vs. Ken O'Brien: In one of the greatest classic shootouts in NFL history, quarterbacks Ken O'Brien and Dan Marino put on an offensive performance no Dolphin or Jet fan should ever forget. Both defenses looked absolutely foolish as the two quarterbacks combined, set NFL single game records (at the time) of 884 net passing yards and ten touchdown passes. Marino completed 30 of 50 passes for 448 yards and six touchdown passes. Dolphin receivers Mark Duper and Mark Clayton both had big games, each having over 100 yards receiving (Duper with 154, Clayton with 174). Ken O'Brien threw four touchdown passes all to wide receiver Wesley Walker, including the one with :00 left on the clock to force OT, and the one in OT for the win. This game still remains as the highest scoring game in this rivalry (96 points). Result: New York 51 Miami 45 / OT

Last night was the best of all time?

Come on, the last :40 took 20 minutes to play. But it might have been the most compelling :40 in 20 minutes in NFL

history

It was a Monday game where you were flying high one minute, then saying what the hell the next.....Right before Buffalo threw the INT, I said to myself, "that Rookie QB will not throw on 3rd down", then wham, a Dallas INT. Then Dallas driving in the 4th. I said to myself, "Romo can't throw another INT", then wham, an int....Dallas scores then wham, Buffalo rins it back for td...TO catches the ball for 2, then wham he gets stripped, Cowboys onside kick then TO catches the ball at 25, game over, but Nooooo, the idiot drops it again....then Folk kicks the FG, but Noooooo Buffalo calls a time out......then Folk kicks ut again.....I am still hoarse from yelling at the tv!

I can tell you right now it was the most exciting Dallas Monday night game.

I think you're just deprived, since this was the 1st watchable MNF game this year.

I agree - it was very entertaining from opening kickoff to close - even though the Bills choked it away when they had it in the bag, it was a lot of fun watching that game.

Not best evah good, but certainly best this year good - which isn't hard to do. The Sunday night game was entertaining as well.

unless you're a packers fan

Anyone remember the Dallas-Giants game in Parcells first year?

Giants down 15 in the 4th, scored 2 tds,a 2pt conv, fg...11 seconds left, NY kicks off out of bounds, antonio bryant made up for all his

drops with a great catch then a 50+yrd fg. cundiff hit his 7th fg in OT to win. 35-32 dallas

I'd like to go with a shootout like Mia-Jets, but those kinda games aren't so unusual (see cleveland-cincy 3 weeks ago)

Indy coming back on Tampa was awesome, and controversial being decided on a rarely called penalty. love to see warren sapp cry.

still it was decided on that 'leaping' flag which lessens any game.

How can you all forget the Bucs/Rams rematch in 2000....best damn game I have ever seen period.

Oilers Dolphins 1978, the night luv ya blue was born. Back and forth all game. Greise and Campbell. Earl scoring an 80 yard TD on his 27th carry. Howard Cosell said it was the greatest game ever.

A team forcing 6 turnovers but only able to muster 3 offensive points makes it the best ever?

A team blowing an onside kick makes it the best ever?

Some terrible calls (funny though because they were against TO  ) makes it the best ever?

I thought it was an exciting finish...but no way the best ever.

How old are you? It was the most exciting this year.

I'm a broncos homer, but the Monday night Broncos/Chiefs game was a classic. Elway lead a 4th quarter comeback with 2 minutes left, then Montana leads one to win the game. HOF quarterbacks dueling it out. Maybe not the best evah, but it ranks up there.

No, it wasn't the best MNF game ever. The last minute or so drove me nuts. Ugh.

I do think it was more compelling than a couple of others I've seen listed. I'll take this game over the 2005 opener between the Colts vs. Pats.

My fav might have been the Bucs/Colts game from '03 or '04. Oh, how fun was that?? I couldn't stand those Bucs teams and it was fun to see Sapp and Lynch with "Wha' happened?" looks on their faces.

I remember a Chiefs/Broncos MNF game in the mid-90's that was awesome. Joe Montana was "Joe Montana" at least one more time. And the Eagles/Cowboys game in '97 or '98 was really compelling also. Eagles missed had a chip shot FG to win the game and there was a bad snap.

That Jets comeback was truly special... and I place it second all time amongst MNF games. An offensive linemen scored a touchdown to take it into OT.

The Chiefs Broncos was my favorite ever. It was a back and forth game in which you got the feeling whoever had t he ball last was going to win. So when Elway got the ball with about two and a half minutes... down by 3 or so... and marches the Donks down the field to take the lead with about 1 minute 20 seconds to go... the Broncos were looking good. But he left too much time for Joe Cool. Montana marches the Chiefs down for the game winner in under a minute and a half. Sorry... but having two first ballot Hall of Fame going head to head and boh of them ran the two minute drill successfully to take the lead, that takes the cake.

That's exactly the game I was going to cite.

Last night was a good night overall though.

my boss was at that Colts game with some chick that he didn't like very much.. so they left at the end of the 3rd quarter cause the colts were losing 35-14 and missed the final FOUR MINUTES of the game... man i would have loved to have been at that game...
