jerryskids 7,017 Posted October 11, 2007 Now that the pretender east-ish teams are gone, let's get to some real playoff baseball. Brandon Webb >>>>>>>>>>>> Rockies pitcher.
Strike 5,941 Posted October 11, 2007 You really didn't want to start this thread. But thanks. Just don't pull a Peenie later when the Rockies are up by a bunch. TIA
Big_Pete 0 Posted October 12, 2007 I could care less about baseball, but I am bored off my ass. do you know if the game is on TBS only? or do local stations carry it as well? (just like MNF on ESPN will be shown on the local teams regular stations) DirecTV is taking forever mailing me a new access card

jerryskids 7,017 Posted October 12, 2007 You really didn't want to start this thread. But thanks. Just don't pull a Peenie later when the Rockies are up by a bunch. TIA Rox up 4-1 in the 3rd. Fock Strike, you know me, I ain't no thread deleter. I'll take my medicine. I did say yesterday, at TDZ if not here, that I'm on vacation starting tomorrow thru next week, so don't take my absence as pulling a peenie. Of course, if they are winning, I may try extra hard to get on line.
Me_2006 14 Posted October 12, 2007 The Rockies are on fire right now. also, Eric Byrnes is one of the most underrated players in baseball. He can do it all, and helped carry my fantasy baseball team to a title this year.
Big_Pete 0 Posted October 12, 2007 sorry JK... you took this game on the chin.
Me_2006 14 Posted October 12, 2007 sorry JK... you took this game on the chin. Shew, tell me about it. Stupid game probably hit some poor guy right in the nuts when that happened. alsojustkiddingjskids.
jerryskids 7,017 Posted October 12, 2007 sorry JK... you took this game on the chin. Yup. Can't win them all, right? Sad thing is, I'm heading to FLA tomorrow for 10 days with family who could care less about this series. It is my reason for existing to MAKE them care, so that we can watch the games. Or they go to sleep, I don't give a fock.
Big_Pete 0 Posted October 12, 2007 Yup. Can't win them all, right? or even 1....... on your home field......
Strike 5,941 Posted October 13, 2007 Game 2 Bump Can anyone say 2-0 series lead?
Big_Pete 0 Posted October 13, 2007 Ouch, 2-0 Rockies... that's gotta hurt JK.
Strike 5,941 Posted October 13, 2007 Ouch, 2-0 Rockies... that's gotta hurt JK. It's gotta hurt more that they basically choked the game away. They probably would have won it except for the boneheaded baserunning play in the 9th, and then they walk the winning run in. I just hope whatever Add!ct makes him wear after the series is over isn't too repulsive.

wiffleball 4,796 Posted October 15, 2007 Gotta be honest, there's a LITTLE part of me that wants this to go to game 5. Focking ridiculous that tonight's game is scheduled at 10:00 EST. Most of the East Coast won't get to see one of the most exciting stories in all of MLB get to the World Series if the Rox win tonight. Hell, alot of Denver folks may not either. I don't know why it should be so GD hard to schedule the only two games in MLB at this time at decent hours. There's a part of me that hopes that, if the Rox have to lose, they do so tonight. Yeah, I'd like to see them get as much rest as possible, but game 5 is also at home and it starts at a much more reasonable 6:30pm MST. It'd be great to see them win it then too. Strike 5,941 Posted October 15, 2007 Hell, alot of Denver folks may not either. You're not very familiar with Denver sports fans are you?
wiffleball 4,796 Posted October 15, 2007 You're not very familiar with Denver sports fans are you? Yeah, those 20+ years living in Denver and having over 200 friends and relatives currently residing there still didn't teach me a thing.
Strike 5,941 Posted October 15, 2007 Yeah, those 20+ years living in Denver and having over 200 friends and relatives currently residing there still didn't teach me a thing. Well, if you had a clue you wouldn't be suggesting that any Denver sports fans won't see the end of the game.
wiffleball 4,796 Posted October 15, 2007 Well, if you had a clue you wouldn't be suggesting that any Denver sports fans won't see the end of the game. Whatever skippy. Seeing as how everything I posted I heard from at least half a dozen Denver fans already. Enjoy the bandwagon.
Strike 5,941 Posted October 15, 2007 Enjoy the bandwagon. There aren't any other kind. Until now, the team hasn't put a product on the field worthy of attention considering the other teams in the city. Given that this team should be good for the next 5+ years I suspect that will change though. I'm sure you, and your "200 friends and family", have all been fans forever though Big Pete Jr.
wiffleball 4,796 Posted October 15, 2007 I'm sure you, and your "200 friends and family", have all been fans forever My first semi-professional ballgame was when my Dad took me as a kid. The Denver Bears @ Mile High. Dad's family was too poor back in the day, all they could afford was baseball - and even then, the five brothers only had like 3 gloves amongs themselves. Baseball got them through some really hard times. I think Dad can still manually score a game - a lost art in itself. I returned the favor some ten plus years later when I took Dad to his (& my) first MLB game played in Denver. I still have the plastic cup I drank out of and the game-day program. Aint enough money in the world for me to even think of selling them. Not sure my Dad's gonna see next year. He's on full-time oxygen and can't do too much anymore. That's why I'm so grateful for this season. Every game I get to call my Dad and talk about it - and I hear a sound in his voice that I don't much hear anymore. And for that I'm incredibly grateful. I'd love to see the Rox win the Series for sure, but for me and what it's meant to my Dad, I'll be just incredibly happy if they get there. ..And yeah, my Dad's one of the folks who I was thinking of when I said not all of the Rox fans will be able to stay up late enough to see the whole game. Rox ROCK!

BMoney 0 Posted October 15, 2007 not that im complaining..i wasnt out there..and the way the rox are playing, they wouldve won anyway... but im not sure why they felt they had to play through the rain in game 3...decide it in decent weather... imagine if denver and cleveland get the world series?...fock..that could be delayed until dec..maybe miller park WILL get a playoff game afterall..
