In first.

And your list is wrong. The Vikes don't have the Charger's 2nd, either 3rd, and they have the 6.21 instead of the 6.15.

That was from ESPN.com's Draft Tracker...must not have updated some things including the Allen trade.

2nd round is in the first day. I'm holding hope that Brohm drops to us at 47.

wont happen. if atlanta passes on ryan and takes dorsey...they have 2 second rounders to ger brohm before the vikes. if atlanta takes ryan then baltimore will make every attempt to get him first.

I doubt that Brohm falls to us in the 2nd round. With that said, what direction will we go in round 2? WR? OL? DB?

I wouldn't mind a WR depending on whose there...

I think the 2 biggest targets would be RT and TE, followed by safety and maybe DT. Unless someone really drops, I think the Vikes won't be going WR until round 4 at least.

Who are the possible targets at TE? I really like Fred Davis from USC but it seems that he would be more of 3rd round value. Am I off on that assumption?

Davis, Dustin Keller, John Carlson, and Martellus Bennett are the top TEs, all ranked pretty closely, and could go anywhere from early 2nd to late 3rd.

Carlson's also a hometown kid, from Litchfield.

Because Childress is going to live and die with Jackson at QB...I just don't think he will take a QB that high.

What the hell..........a safety????

But he's a big one...I think he could be better than Phillips who the NYG took.

He a pick for depth and when Sharper gets too old.

Yeah, that's what 3rd and 4th round picks are for.

Why in the F would Childress trade up...and not take Brohm.

That was a horrible move. How do you not only let that gift get past you but compound it by trading up and still screwing up. There is no excuse for the Vikings ineptitude.

So now we get a "Booty call"

If QB was a priority why not Brohm in the 2nd

Letroy Guion:

Height: 6-33/8 | Weight: 303 | 40-Time: 5.36

Strengths:

Good size with the frame to get bigger...Real athletic..Good range and does a nice job in pursuit and has a burst...Explosive with terrific quickness and a burst...Very strong...Can get some penetration..Is solid versus the run...Still has some upside.

Weaknesses:

Wasn't very productive...Pass rush repertoire is limited...Questionable awareness and instincts..Inconsistent and disappears at times..Plays with bad technique and leverage...Doesn't have a lot of experience...Might have some character concerns.

Notes:

Last name is pronounced "GUY-in"...Was only a starter for a little over a year and then came out as a junior...Was one of the 'Nole players involved in the academic cheating scandal....Would have been better off going back to school for his senior year but is an interesting guy who has some tools to work with...A bit of a project who will most likely be picked a little earlier than he should be based on potential.

John Sullivan:

6-31/2 | Weight: 301 | 40-Time: 5.32

Official Bio

Strengths:

Adequate size and bulk...Really understands leverage and positioning...Excellent strength...Stout at the point...Smart with decent awareness...Intense and a hard worker with a non-stop motor...A leader with top intangibles...Tons of experience.

Weaknesses:

Isn't a great athlete...Poor balance...Is not a natural knee bender...Needs to do a better job of finishing his blocks...Not very mobile...Doesn't get a great push...Had some issues with the shotgun snap...Is not very powerful....Struggled as a senior.

Notes:

Was a top heavyweight wrestler in high school (138-6 record) and won the state championship as a sophomore, junior and senior...A four-year starter...He saw his stock slip in '07 but the Irish have a strong tradition of producing pro lineman and that can't be discounted...Does not have all the physical tools but he gets the job done..A potential starter if he can regain the form he showed earlier in his career.

Jaymar Johnson:

Height: 5-111/8 | Weight: 177 | 40-Time: 4.47

Strengths:

Adequate height...Good speed and quickness...A deep threat who can stretch the field vertically...Great hands...Terrific ball skills...Gives a solid effort as a blocker...A hard worker with great intangibles...Versatile and he also has some return ability.

Weaknesses:

Thin and doesn't have the bulk that you look for...Not very strong...Sub par route runner...Not real elusive...Won't do a lot after the catch...Has trouble beating the jam at the line of scrimmage...Didn't play against top competition...Limited upside.

Notes:

Also participated in track at the college level..Had his sophomore season cut short by a knee injury....Wasn't really dominant at his level...Pretty one-dimensional...At best he likely profiles as a #4 or #5 wideout and return specialist at the pro level.

I'm happy with the Booty pick. As for the safety, I agree it was a little annoying but I think he'll be a good player for us. Our defense is looking pretty solid for the years to come!

I still would have rather seen them take Henne, but alot of people seem to think this Johnson for Arkansas State is going to be a pretty good safety. Getting Booty and John Sullivan on the second day is very acceptable to me. Looking at how they did and then including Jared Allen, I am quite happy with what htey got out of the draft. It is much nicer having Zygi around to pay guys like Allen and Madieu Williams than ole Red stealing stuff from Winter Park.
