lambert58 71 Posted November 6, 2008 I'm starting him because of this Against Cleveland Week 1. M. Barber - 16 rushes 80 yards 2 touchdowns/ F. Jones - 9 rushes, 62 yards 1 touchdown Week 2. W. Parker - 28 rushes 105 yards Week 3. McClain/McGahee/Rice - 37 rushes 151 yards 3 touchdowns Week 4. Bungles Week 5. Bye Week 6. D.ward/B. Jacobs - 24 rushes 168 yards week 7. C. Portis - 27 rushes 175 yards week 8. Garrard/MJD/F. Taylor - 27 rushes 112 yards Week 9. Ray Rice - 21 rushes 154 yards Only 1 bad rush week by the Bungles and one mediocre day by the Jags.. Very enticing matchup against the Clowns for Torain.
SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted November 6, 2008 Does anyone want to bet that Quinn throws a pic that's returned by the Broncos for pretty nice field position, maybe a close-in score for any DEN RB? I have him in, as I mentioned above, and so far I'm sticking with him. If Scheffler plays that could help with the blocking too.
statman 0 Posted November 7, 2008 according to the NFL network, S.Young is starting, not Torain.
StuntmanMike 0 Posted November 7, 2008 according to the NFL network, S.Young is starting, not Torain. I must be watching a different NFL Network then
mccombsau 5 Posted November 7, 2008 please......if you have Lynch, Slaton, MJD, etc., do not start Torain over them. I know you want to look smart and "discover" the next great rookie back but he has only 3 carries as a NFL back! Even the Browns can handle this. stick with your guys, don't drink the koolaid until it has been sweetened
pbev21 2 Posted November 7, 2008 according to the NFL network, S.Young is starting, not Torain. I also saw that on cbssportsline. Selvin Young back and in starting lineup.
StuntmanMike 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Finally saw it meaning I bench him and he goes off.
statman 0 Posted November 7, 2008 I must be watching a different NFL Network then at around 4pm PT they were reporting that Young would start. By 4:30 they were saying Torain will start and Young will come off the bench. Who knows what to believe anymore.
AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted November 7, 2008 WTF!!! Now Torain isn't the starter and my other option (Jonathan Stewart) has missed two days of practice and may not play!
ElectricBoogaloo 1 Posted November 7, 2008 I love how Torain gets all this hype and then people start freaking out thinking of Selvin Young picking up all the carries. If Torain is the man then it won't really matter now will it. And do you really think Young will get the goal line? I'm playing him...
lambert58 71 Posted November 7, 2008 I pulled him from my starting lineup and will hope for McGahee or Stewart to be healthy enough to play as my #2.
AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted November 7, 2008 I see you have the same problem as me between picking Torain and Stewart. I was going to go with Stewart but he's missed two days of practice and he already could be a game time decision. I have to go with Torain now. All I ask is one good week Torain!!! SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted November 7, 2008 I pulled him from my starting lineup and will hope for McGahee or Stewart to be healthy enough to play as my #2. Yep, me too, I have lousy options, but this appears to be Shanahan at his best. I have Torain benched and if he pulls off a big night well then great. But last week he was 3 for 1 yard, and now he's not even starting. CBS states: "The Broncos will start RB Selvin Young, who missed the last three games with a groin injury, over rookie Ryan Torain in Week 10 at Cleveland." So they're reporting it too. Kind of sorry I just dropped Young but then again I have no idea what he would have done. Here's hoping Mewelde Moore starts for Parker because that's who I dropped him for. AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted November 7, 2008 OK well the game has kicked off and Torain is in as the starter. That makes me feel slightly better...

The touchdown is nice but I want to see yardage. I have him for minimum salary in a keeper league. If he plays well from here on out then I am in good shape for next year. I have him as my 4th back this year so anything he can give me is gravy...
steelers2101 7 Posted November 7, 2008 he looks horrible, but he got a cheap TD, so that'll work.
Jazlizard 0 Posted November 7, 2008 He's only gotten like 5 carries? Judging him a little early don't you think? Likely won't live up to the hype (initially, or ever who really knows) but if you started him, he's got a TD already, which should take some stress off of you owners/starters. OK, so I put him back in at the very absolute last second, very glad I did. It came down to believing CBS or Rotoworld (still can't catch the game yet), after thinking about it I realized I'd rather not go with CBS, they have no clue and indeed they were wrong. I don't care what Torain does so long as he plays, and now he has a TD so that's a relief.
idiotekniQues 0 Posted November 7, 2008 it was either torain or kevin smith against jacksonville. i went with torain. so far so good. hopin for another 6-10 points from him tonight.
AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted November 7, 2008 He's gotten 9 points so far which was about what I was expecting as a total. I'm glad I put him back in at the last minute. C'mon get some more cheap TD's!

Dallas_Empire 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Good to see Shanny might finally be tired of his RB games. Maybe the football gods have blessed him with another Terrell Davis stud so he will stop focking with fantasy owners and ride him.

hawk82 0 Posted November 7, 2008 He walked off o.k....hope he's alright. That would stink if you were injured, got your shot and got hurt again right away.

FantasyChick 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Selvin young owners might get paid if Torain gets hurt here. OMG! If Hillis comes in and goes off I am gonna be pissed! My desperate opponent who had waiver wire pick of 11 of 12 picked up Hillis and had to start him and MJD with Barber and Benson on a bye.
lambert58 71 Posted November 7, 2008 Deja vu all over again. I grabbed Mendenhall due to Parker not being known for reliability. Parker goes down and I am looking great. Mendenhall injured and out for the year after less than 1/2 as starter. Grabbed Torain in a trade before the season started knowing that he was injured buy looking towards the 2nd half and next year. 1st game as a starter and BAM!! Somehow I am still in first place in my league...
idiotekniQues 0 Posted November 7, 2008 holy ###### i cant take this year with injuries. westy and colston, burleson, witten from my draft - then sammy morris after i got him and he was doing well, then pittman of denver after i got him and he was doing well, now torain. jeeebus! Darko M 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Tape up his ankle and put him back in after the half!
Jazlizard 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Think it's knee, look like his leg got bent back pretty bad, so probably a sprain of some sort, didn't look too serious. I wouldn't be surprised if they put him back in (he's trying to run on the sidelines atm), but depends on how close they can keep it I think.
TennisMenace 156 Posted November 7, 2008 Since I didn't start him, let him rest up for next week.
FantasyChick 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Traded Torain and Avery for Randy Moss and Thomas Jones. Something may go my way! I usually trade for the injured player just before they go down aka Schaub, Reggie Bush in 2 different trades.

Doesn't sound serious if he's trying to "run it off" on the sidelines. I bet the kid is scared more than anything... lots of money on the line and an injury has already cost him half of his first season. Hopefully he comes back after the half. Give him the needle if it eases his mind.
