US Navy DEVIL DOC

Reggie Wayne for Marion Barber. Would you do it?

Recommended Posts

we start 3-RB & 4-WR. My receivers are pretty stacked, but I am weak at RB. (See roster below)

Anyway, the full trade would be:

Reggie Wayne, Derek Anderson & 1.09 Rookie Draft Pick for;

Marion Barber, Brett Favre (just a throw in), & 1.07 Rookie Pick. (This would give me 1.05, 1.06 & 1.07 in the draft)

Thanks guys!! Let me know if I should pull the trigger right away ..

If you don't know the glaringly obvious answer to this, you have no business playing in fantasy football, son.

My main reason for asking is because of the fact that Wayne is universally ranked in the top #5 on almost every Dynasty list I've seen, while Barber is always somewhere in the 10-15 range ....

I would not do this trade, i would rather have Wayne. WR's have a longer shelf life.

even tho it is a dynasty, your first goal should be to win each season. You have to plan for the future but if you don't try to win, whats the point?

WR's may have longer shelf-lives but I think I would do this trade provided you feel set at WR otherwise. Barber is not a bad keep option at RB and can help balance your team out this year.

and you move up 2 spots in the rookie draft...

but i really can't make a full decision without know your roster at WR and RB.

He has 3 first round draft picks, i think it is easier to hit on RB's through the draft, and having lots of WR depth in a PPR league that starts 4 WR's is the way to "win now".

I would hold on to Wayne and look at moving a different WR, or multiple draft picks for the RB.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice so far. My full roster is in my sig. (minus the IDP's)

i did not see PPR mentioned.

even so you won't win without a balanced team. at least not often.

hmm now my advice may change. Im not high on Holmes at WR so to me you currently have 3 stud WR's and 1 stud RB.

i think I would stay put having to start 4 WR's especially if this is a PPR like MtSki said.

Then i would draft the best RB's avail to you in the rookie draft. with the 5th and 6th picks you hope someone ahead of you takes Crabtree and one of the QB's so you have a shot at Donald Brown or Chris Wells.

Id rather keep Wayne and package 1.6/1.9 and try to move into the top 2 or trade the picks for a young affordable RB with upside like Kevin Smith. Whatever the case id probably leave Wayne out of it. You could also explore trading 1.5 for an aging RB like LT or Westbrook to get you through the year. Ive found that owners in some of my dynasty leagues are letting them go at a modest rate

I dunno about Wayne. Last year was totally frustrating for Wayne owners with his disappearance from the stats sheet for ssveral weeks. Manning looks for focking TE's now and that little twit Gonzalez was stealing TDs too. Wayne underperformed last year, no argument. Barber is a horse at times but the Cowboys have other ways to score too and Barber tailed off badly last year.

I wouldnt want either player for next season.

well, part of waynes weaker production was the injury to Manning.

Clearly if the QB is playing subpar, the receivers are going to be in the same boat even if the receivers are playing well.

I expect wayne to bounce back.

I'm scared of Barber moving forward. There is a TON of Rb talent on that roster now. Couple that with the fact that his style lends itself to injury and he's already started to break down. I agree with the guy who advised using some of your extra 1st rounders to try and get a younger Rb with upside. You don't want to deal Wayne. He's as close to automatic as you can get at the Wr position.

Read my Sig... end of story...

I'd either load the deck with Rb's in the first round of your draft with your picks, or package them up and throw in a Wr like Holmes and try to land a stud Rb from someone rebuilding in your league...

or maybe get a couple Rb's on the cheap that didn't fill up the stat sheet last year.... Like a Ronnie Brown or Larry Johnson

WAYNE in 09 ! :D
