Willie Parker Grossly Underrated This Year?

Recommended Posts

Geez, nobody suggests cutting FWP! ...but top 20 in tocuhes seems doubtful at the moment. The other guys saw a ton of action. Let's see what happens over the next week or two.

Nobody was running the ball against Tenn D last night.

Parker had 13 carreis

Moore had 5

Mendenahall had 4

And none of them averaged over 2 ypc. It's a wash. The fact that Parker started and tripled the amount of carries of the other two guys is more telling than anything. FWP got 60% of the carries last night. Moore and Mendenhall got about 20% a peice.

Is that not the split we anticipated? Nothings changed.

My quick retort would be to add in the receptions too.

...but still, good points KSB.

Last I checked the Titans and Steelers wre pretty good Defensive Run stoppers. I sure as hell am not gonna declare anybody anything right now.

I am, even bumbling Mendenhall looked better than Parker. And I said in another thread, Moore is the best looking RB they have on their roster right now. Willie will get his against the bad teams, but that offensive line really struggles against good defense fronts.

The underrated Steeler is Ben this year.

They are going to have to switch to a pure passing attack. That line is awful. And Willie didn't look good period. He should at least exhibit signs of explosion. I saw nothing.

I agree here.

Im on record in this thread saying that I think Parker is undervalued but he looked AWFUL last night as did the Pitt run game as a whole. Tenn is a good run defense but that effort from the Steeler running attack last night was pathetic.

As a Moore owner, Im hoping that they go to the spread attack more often and he provides some type of value as he looks to be the most compotent and versatile weapon they have in the backfield right now.

There werent many runnin lanes last night but Parker had a few chances to get to the edge and beat defenders 1 on 1. He didnt come close. Just doesnt seem to have "it" anymore.

I hope Fast Willie is ready to go and can capture some of his 2006 magic. But lately he's turning into the king of the 1 yard gain. His longest run in the last 2 years is 34 yds.

Slow Willie Parker. Worthless.

You may be right. Hell who knows. But I'm not gonna make a determination on 4 carries by one guy and 5 by another.

I also saw FWP make a nice 12-14 yard run that was nullified by a bogus holding call on Hines Ward. Now I'm not saying Willie looked good, because he didn't.

I'm saying none of them looked that good. So I'll wait it out for a better reading in another game. :P
