Tango 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Rice put up solid #2/ low #1 numbers yet again. I know you all want him to better than AP; but it's hard to complain about his output so far.
BigDaddyDelicious 0 Posted October 5, 2009 I would like to drop kick Willis personally. Still Rice had 103 Rushing yards, 49 rec yards and 5 catches. Not too shabby in a PPR league. I am very happy for getting him in the 6th round. If he only had the TDs. I still think they will come.

If you had a late draft and took him in the 4th as your RB2, slightly frustrating so far. If you had an early draft and took him in the 7th/8th as your RB3, peaches and cream. Terpnut 5 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Should be starting. he's a better back, great hands and a much quicker burst. I'm surprised they don't rely on him more. He's technically my RB3/Flex (if LT ever gets his shat together) so I'm fine with his production but just think what it could be. It could be the championship type draft pick. Yes and WE have nothing to be bitter about watching him do all the work and Mcvulturehee get the happy ending. can you non-Rice owners just stfu and let us vent? jgcrawfish 232 Posted October 5, 2009 Uh oh. A thread created by bitter Rice owners, for bitter Rice owners who all thought Rice was going to be Deangelo Williams part 2. Rice's only problem is that he's not finding the endzone. If the kid would punch in a couple, McGahee wouldn't see the field. I don't know if Rice is more talented, better, or whatever. I do know that Rice isn't a bad #3RB/Flex and that thus far McGahee is the much better draft value.
Woosters 1 Posted October 5, 2009 "Be in your line-ups every week...." It does not matter that McGahee is stealing all the GL carries.....Rice produces a significant amount of points every week so far......... I will gladly take his weekly 10-20 pts. every week with consisitancy....heck even Willis has been as consistant....have to love it! A lot of the top 25 RB's projected for the year will not be as consistant as them.... These two have a great OL in front of them with a good QB... Play them every week without hesitation! KSB2424 3,148 Posted October 5, 2009 Uh oh. A thread created by bitter Rice owners, for bitter Rice owners who all thought Rice was going to be Deangelo Williams part 2. I do agree that the premise of this thread is dumb. Rice is putting up solid real football numbers and fantasy numbers. He's lived up to everything I could have dreamed for a RB drafted in the 5th round. He's currently ranked 8th in fantasy points of all RB's in my league (PPR). Hard to complain about that. Since he is getting touches, I don't mind the fact that Willis is there. It should keep Rice fresh the whole season and especially down the stretch when alot of guys burn out. That is where I like the DeAngelo comparison. Not sayin Rice will score 14 TD's, but DeAngelo was fresh the second part of last year because J-Stew was there. Meanwhile guys like Portis started fast but then faded just when fantasy owners needed them most. One of the reasons while I like the start Cedric Benson has had, he's already amassed alot of carries. I see Benson fading weeks 10 thur 16 while Rice turns in on. kmbryant09 1 Posted October 5, 2009 If you had a late draft and took him in the 4th as your RB2, slightly frustrating so far. If you had an early draft and took him in the 7th/8th as your RB3, peaches and cream. Why??? Maybe our scoring system's are drastically different, but right now he's #11 in my .5 PPR league. I think everyone believes he's "underachieved" so far, and if that's the case, he's an absolute BARGAIN anytime after the 2nd round. He's currently on pace for 1,180 rushing yards, 64 catches/520 yards, and 4 TDs. If he punches a few more TDs this season, he could flirt with the top5. If McGahee goes down, Rice could be the best 2nd half RB this year. But regardless, I think everyone would be happy with 1,700 total yards out of a 4th+ round draft pick. I'm not trying to single you out, it's just I think he was overhyped this off-season. I still think he's worth a 4th round pick, even if smaller leagues, but people would draft him early, and still expect top5 numbers out of him. I drafted him in the 6th of a 10-team league as my #3, hoping for #15-type numbers. He's outproducing that so far, and looks like he'll only go up from here. nordwave 2 Posted October 5, 2009 A single player will not make or break your draft. I took Rice in the 4th. I'm 3-0 and battling out a close one that will be decided tonight on MNF. So far, I'm WAY happier with Rice in the 4th than I am with Roddy White in the 2nd. But just like every year, there were plenty of late-round lottery tickets in the draft, and waiver-wire gems to be picked up.
