TennisMenace 156 Posted October 5, 2009 I am now thinking this will be Eli's pecking order: 1. Smith of course 2. Nicks 3. Mario 4. Boss Today's game was revealing. Mario struggled holding onto the ball, and even the one he caught he juggled. Eli should have not had an INT except for Mario's bad hands. I think Eli feeds off of that. If he can't trust you, you move down. Nicks has great hands. Nicks did today what Mario has done a few times - take a short pass and go to the house. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Mario is worthless; rather, just about to be #3. If you don't have Nicks, get him. Even if you have to dump Mario to accomplish that. ens189 1 Posted October 5, 2009 Without a doubt Reese has proved himself to be an outstanding GM. This WR group is looking very good right now with Nicks healthy again. I like the way the Giants look at this position for the next few years at least.
jrbdmb 28 Posted October 5, 2009 Steve Smith is the undisputed #1 WR. Anyone else (Manningham, Nicks, Hixon) is a crap shoot.
Giants Fan 85 Posted October 5, 2009 As I said BEFORE (which fantasy wise are the threads you wanna pay attention to). Smith was the WR to have mostly because Manningham is filling in for Hixon. BTW ... Hakeem deserved a Berman "WHOOP" and didn't get one (that's not fair). That was brilliant slide. But I wouldn't expect him to be even a bye week fill in. There is also: Hixon Moss The Giants are too deep at WR for you to count on anyone .... besides Smith ... fantasy wise. For that matter ... Smith is prolly a great "TRADE HIGH" right now. RoadLizard 73 Posted October 5, 2009 I agree. The Manningham experiment is over. He shot his wad a few weeks ago. Im cutting him this week.
Woosters 1 Posted October 5, 2009 Wow....Mario is the man.....Manning really took a lot of time this year to help him along....wanting him to be his #2 WR this year....just look at the film from all the preseason games....... I say after Smith, Mario stays at #2.
da_mane_man 1 Posted October 5, 2009 yeah, mario's not losing his job cause nicks turned a little screen into a td. fact is, nicks is still a rookie. he's gonna need the rest of this year to get up to speed. hixon is a suck receiver. mario is still the #2, but the drops do concern me. gridiron whirlwinds 9 Posted October 5, 2009 I am thinking about trading for Nicks....I like his upside and think he could be their number 2 receiver opposite Smith. Do you guys like his upside over all other giants receivers, other than Smith?
Tony_Romo_Domination 0 Posted October 5, 2009 this is the time to move on nicks..........if he is the #2 guy going forward then smart owners will be moving now. The question is if nicks is gonna be #2 or mario. giants homers need to chime in here. Nicks could turn into fantasy gold for teams needing some help at the wr spot. TennisMenace 156 Posted October 5, 2009 I am a Giants homer and I believe NICKS will pass Mario real soon, like maybe this week. Let's go back before Nicks' injury - he had the better preseason and he was the one that Giant fans were getting wet over, not Mario. Nicks gets injured, in comes Mario, and he elevates himself with all of two games. Two freaking games fellows, and you guys want to make him The Man! Move to yesterday's game - a ton of drops by Mario and Nicks makes big on his one pass. You do the math.... Having said all that, Steve Smith is clearly the man to own and start. Nicks and Mario are flex types IMO, not 1-2 types.

robertd52 0 Posted October 6, 2009 My buddy has Smith and is blowing himself at EVERY spare (and non spare) moment on what a genius he is for drafting smith for a buck in our 10 man auction league. I agree with GFIAFP that Smith is a GREAT guy to shop around right now and see what you can get...he is the SECOND leading scorer in my league right now, just behind Peyton. If you can get something fat for him (and a lesser) that fills 2 starting spots, you gotta move the guy.
IckyFish 0 Posted October 6, 2009 For that matter ... Smith is prolly a great "TRADE HIGH" right now. I don't really understand the TRADE HIGH strategy with him. In a PPR league, he's mopping it up and it doesn't seem like he's going to slow down. Manning is going to target him and Smith is going to get open. They are going to run hard and pass for yards, not home runs. Smith will still get his 7-12 catches a game and land somewhere between 60 - 100 yards. No one is going to give you Peterson for him and actually he's 2nd overall in points in my league (behind Payton.) I'm not selling high, I'm keeping him right where he is. gridiron whirlwinds 9 Posted October 6, 2009 Who thinks Nicks can bypass Manningham on the depth chart?
Giants Fan 85 Posted October 6, 2009 Who thinks Nicks can bypass Manningham on the depth chart? I think both have very little fantasy value this year.
