Super Cubs 132 Posted December 8, 2009 If a playoff game ends in a tie what does your league use as the tie breaker? Our league started out as a TD league and goes back to those rules. Only points scored being used no yards. If that does not work then every yard counts and we go to decimal scoring.
swandown 0 Posted December 8, 2009 My main league used to do this: 1st tiebreaker = total offensive touchdowns 2nd tiebreaker = all total points scored (including field goals, etc.) 3rd tiebreaker = decimal scoring But now we just go straight to decimal scoring. Cubs07 0 Posted December 8, 2009 Ties in the standings are resolved in this order: Division Record, Total Points, Head to Head Record, Points Against (Schedule Difficulty). Do you guys get Wr tackle points after an INT? If so look into this. I've seen close game results flip cuz of WR tackles
Mello 0 Posted December 8, 2009 I'm a noob and hadn't really paid attention to that nuance. Here's what it is in my main league though. Think this is standard for Yahoo: In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock will be broken using the following system: 1. Most touchdowns scored by entire starting roster. 2. Most fantasy points by starting quarterback(s). 3. Most fantasy points by starting defensive team(s). 4. Most fantasy points by starting defensive player(s). 5. Most fantasy points by starting defensive back(s). 6. Most fantasy points by starting defensive linemen. 7. Most fantasy points by starting wide receiver(s). 8. Most fantasy points by starting running back(s). 9. Most fantasy points by starting tight end(s). 10. Most fantasy points by starting kicker(s). NOTES: * When breaking a tie in a playoff game, the only statistics used will be from that specific game. * All touchdowns scored by the team (passing, rushing, receiving and defensive) will be counted in the playoff tiebreaker. Now that I've paid attention, I don't like it. I think the tie should go to the higher seed. Not a biggie though.
GridironGuzzlers 3 Posted December 8, 2009 My league is fair and simple. Playoff tie goes to the higher seed

swandown 0 Posted December 9, 2009 Same as regular season......bench points. So you reward the guy who grabbed a 3rd QB instead of handcuffing his RB?
huskerinct 1 Posted December 9, 2009 So you reward the guy who grabbed a 3rd QB instead of handcuffing his RB? Yes, that and the guy who actually built a team with depth.

FF_Guru_Guy 0 Posted December 9, 2009 Yes, that and the guy who actually built a team with depth. LOL Yeah, the guy with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Redman and 4 kickers should be rewarded for building a solid team.
Matthew's Berry's 0 Posted December 9, 2009 LOL Yeah, the guy with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Redman and 4 kickers should be rewarded for building a solid team. One league our tiebreakers are done (regular season and playoffs) based on bench. Non decimal scoring. Ugggg. So yep, the team that was auto picked by computer has QBs and kickers and ALWAYS outscores everyone else (because I guess there was something more important going on that he had to miss his online draft). Bench points breaking the ties is DUMB.
Dan 59 Posted December 9, 2009 Bench points . . . but that only effects the Championship Game, as the rest of the players have a home-field advantage that makes a tie impossible. Oh, and in thirteen years, we've never had a tie.
Thornton Melon 544 Posted December 9, 2009 We use yardage points, and apply decimal scoring. If it's still a tie (not bloody likely), we go to the higher seed. We used to do bench points, but realized you shouldn't be rewarded for players you left (sometimes foolishly) on your bench. Games should be decided by the guys "on the field". mahoney 9 Posted December 9, 2009 If there is a tie in a playoff game in my league the following will be used to determine who advances: The team to advance must own 2 of 3: Best Overall Record, Most Points, Winner of Regular Season Head to Head Matchup. Example: -Team A and Team B have a tie game in the playoffs. -Team A had a better regular season record, Team B had more points at the end of regular season. -Head to Head matchup in regular season determines who advances. -If there is still a tie, points against will be the fourth factor.
