Anyone here ever get turf toe?

Recommended Posts

Got it playing kickball with my kids :( wearing crocks I went to kick the ball really hard an high but ended up hitting the ground first an basically bending my foot in half. Nothing was broke as an hour after I was able to move all my toes but my big toe hurt like hell to move it - the next day above the toe - black an blue. It has been 3 weeks an the focker still hurts to walk in the morning - and I still can't really run and plant while playing my weekly basketball game.

Just wondering if it's worth it to go to the doctor over - as in if there is even anything they can do or if it's like a bad ankle sprain an it just takes time to heal it. Also how long it takes to heal. I will say I have a whole new respect for RB's that play with this -- they have to get it shot up to numb it b3casue there's no way to make those kind of sharp cuts with this.

I have broken both big toes playing ball and had turf toe twice on my left big toe. I also had a 300lbs skank in heels step directly on my left big toe with the heel on her high heeled shoe. That happend in January and it finally healed this month. There is nothing a doctor can do. All you can do is wait for it to heal. I wouldn't play any sports or put a lot of weight on it. You will be prolonging it by doing so. It might take as little as two months or as much as five.

You deserve it for wearing crocs.

I would never wear them out :( Just in the backyard playing with the kids -- they are actually comfortable :ninja:

I have crocs as well, but only wear them at home ... very comfortable, and they don't stink

I think I have it, self-diagnosed in my second toe.  It's fockin awful.  I play softball and this pain near the ball in my foot has kind of come and gone but after a couple days it usually goes away.  It has been hurting bad the last few weeks and at one point I heard some sh1t pop and crack in there.  Went to the doctor yesterday and they're trying to get me scheduled for an MRI, hoping insurance approves the MRI without giving me too much cr@p trying to deny it <_<
