P.I. 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I know he has been solid all year (even without the TD's) and I know the 49ers schedule is pretty soft, BUT, the 49ers as a team just look horrible and I am afraid Gore will either pack it in or get hurt when we need him most... Do you guys think he will continue to be a strong play for the rest of the year, regardless of how the 49ers season turns out? How comfortable are you with Gore moving forward? DexterMorgan 5 Posted October 26, 2010 He's a Stud. 49ers are terrible and he has had double digits every week.
RoadLizard 73 Posted October 26, 2010 The lack of TD's is killing him though. Why did they have to throw to focking Vernon Davis at the 1 yeard line this week? Thats Franks TD easy last year. I was hoping hed be a stud for me but hes been reduced to a yardage ###### which is helpful but TDs are KING and he aint scoring that many. It better turn around. I am nervous though... We Tigers 71 Posted October 26, 2010 His 2010 looks a lot like Ray Rice's 2009. Surging towards 2000 yards and single digit TDs. I dunno if he's going to have a 50 point game like he did last year, but he's getting good points every week.

He leads the league in yards from scrimmage and you're "nervous"? 4th in Rush Attempts. 1st in reception targets among backs. There are only 14 WRs with more targets than Frank Gore. If you're not in a TD-Only League, there's few backs I'd rather own. If you're in a PPR League, there is NO back I'd rather own.

P.I. 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I appreciate the input. I have been happy with Gore, I just hope the wheels do not completely fall off...losing to the panthers is just plain pathetic and I can see the team falling apart real soon...if you guys think gore can survive regardless, I feel better about it. idiotec 31 Posted October 26, 2010 Niners homer and one thing is for sure, regardless of how bad the Niners do, Frank will give 110% every game. I wouldn't be worried.

BigTime311 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I'm a proud Gore owner, however as of late I'm a little concerned and have been entertaining trade offers to unload him. Like you have mentioned, SF offense has been to say the least a huge disappointment. My biggest concern atm is Alex being out and defenses just loading up the box against them, especially when Gore is playing. Gore does have a history of injuries so that doesn't help my anxiety as well. As others have mentioned the stats show that Gore is a stud and honestly, who wouldn't want a workhorse RB like Gore. It's like owning Apple stock, it's been a great ride, however do you cash in now or keep riding the gravy train?
Militia 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I'm a gore owner as well and have been looking to trade him. There have been a couple instances where he was having a terrible week until he broke one. that isn't always going to happen. He just always worries me.

Only players I trade gore for are AP or Chris Johnson.
Big Blue 06 195 Posted October 27, 2010 What player is worry free? Only players I trade gore for are AP or Chris Johnson. This is true. The 49ers suck every year and Gore never packs it in. I own him in a PPR league and I don't even know if I could trade him straight up for those guys, though I probably would end up doing it.
P.I. 0 Posted October 27, 2010 Wow, a lot of mixed input...at least I know I am not crazy. The 49ers just look like such ######, imagine they were playing good defenses...I think Gore would not fair as well, but on the other hand, if they could just get their ###### together, he could start adding touchdowns to his yardage and he could be a beast. I don't think I am trading him, so here's to hoping he stays healthy and kicks ass down the stretch when we need him most.
PackYourNut 47 Posted October 27, 2010 Troy Smith in at QB this week. Maybe he can run for a few first downs where those other two sleps would just throw an INT.

Well, TDs are still the gauge by which you judge studs - unless you are in one of these pansy leagues that reward points for passing gas or having a pulse. In NORMAL leagues, Franks lack of Tds is hurting him badly. The yards are there but the TDs are not. If that doesnt change hes no better than a back that gets pulled at the goal line. No, they're the gauge by which YOU judge studs. I judge them by total points, where Gore is 3rd among Rbs.

DexterMorgan 5 Posted October 27, 2010 What scoring system? Pinball-plus? 1 point per 10 yards? PPR? Fine. Standard scoring + .5 ppr and 1 pt bonus for 100 yards. and he's actually #2 in scoring. (#3 in average points per week)

I'm a Cards fan and travel to the bay area a lot (here right now actually) so I see the Niners a lot and hear the local talk. Anyway, I view the lack of TDs as more of an anomaly vs. a systemic issue, such as Ray Rice getting pulled for Willis at the goal line. The Niners can't get much worse so I view his performance to date as a baseline. TDs are upside which I reasonably expect. As others have said, CJ and AP are the only RBs I'd consider for him. Ramrock 17 Posted October 27, 2010 CJ is reaching overrated status in 3 out of seven weeks he hasn't scored me zip , that's zero, nada ,zippoooooooooooooo
FeelingMN 273 Posted October 27, 2010 He's #5 in my league....standard scoring....no gimmicks. He's one of the few top picks performing like he should. And I wouldn't worry about the QB situation....it's never been a position of strength for the Niners anyway.
Melissa Stark 1 Posted October 27, 2010 I don't own Gore, but he is impressive on a bad offense. I don't think anyone should worry about him.
