I didnt support the war in Iraq because the case for war was pitifully thin and everything thats happened since has validated by belief that we never shouldve gone in there in the first place.

 

PR is important in these matters because taxpayers are footing the bill, and the public turned on this war when it became obvious that the primary selling point was a load.

 

 

I was all for the war in Afghanistan because at least we know that al Qaida is primary stationed at the Afghanistan / Pakistan border, but eight years later its obvious to me theres no winning there, at least not for an expense that were willing to shoulder, so its time to draw down.

The difference between you and me is that I know I was wrong on Afghanistan, but even with almost ten years of hindsight you still dont realize how wrong you were and still are when it comes to Iraq.

 

Aside from the fact that two of these links go to the same article and all of them speak to global terrorism worldwide, rather than the affect on the war in Iraq on terrorism in particular, Id like to reflect on the rich irony of Mensa now citing the United Nations as a more authoritative voice on military matters than our own National Intelligence Estimate.

I'm really tired of this USA - Global Police mentality. We can't afford it, we never make the situation better, and we p*ss off everybody for our trouble. All that money and time and troops' sacrifice is for nothing.

 

I think we get the fock out of Iraq, get the fock out of Afganistan/Pakistan, should have never invaded Libya, mind our own business. We talk about deficit reduction, I've got a great place to start.

 

All the instability in the world is either Muslims vs Muslims or Muslims vs somebody else. Now, we can help the somebody elses but as for the Muslims ... who cares? How about we let them blow each other up and stop giving a fock? Whenever somebody in the Middle East successfully exterminates/represses all their Muslim rivals, tell them that Allah must be very proud of them and then buy oil from them.

 

I don't want any of that anger/stupidity crossing the oceans and causing us trouble. They can, however, feel free to blow up their friends and neighbors in their own country in accordance with their own laws, religion, and customs. Islam is the Religion of Peace.

Yea. I don't get it. Let them all kill each other. Make friends with whoever is on top at the moment and give them our money. I have no idea why we feel we need to be so involved over there. Our presence is what makes them hate us in the first place. Wish Israel luck and hit the road.
