clarkevii 0 Posted September 23, 2011 He will get lots of looks and the Giants will be playing catch up all afternoon to Vick and the birds at home.
DexterMorgan 5 Posted September 23, 2011 starting him. Peopple are really going to start Nate Burelson over him?
clarkevii 0 Posted September 23, 2011 The people who start Burleson over him do not watch football. Eli LOVES Nicks in the redzone. Start with confidence.

p.man 7 Posted September 23, 2011 fftoday has burleson rated higher. I was just going to say the same thing. Their projections are the same at 5 catches for 70 yards and 1 Td. I figure that Burleson has the easier matchup, so why not use him?

I figure that Burleson has the easier matchup, so why not use him? Because he doesn't have the upside of Nicks. Sure Burleson COULD outscore him, but really, you're going to start Nate Burleson over a consensus top 10 WR because he's got a tough matchup? Why'd you even draft him? Mike FF Today 748 Posted September 23, 2011 fftoday has burleson rated higher. Burleson #25, Nicks #27 both in Tier 3. It's only this close because I think Burleson has a better matchup against MIN than Nicks against PHI. I wouldn't fault anyone for choosing Nicks.
GlennG31 0 Posted September 23, 2011 I'll be starting Nicks this weekend. Of course, my only other options on my bench are Mike Thomas and Lance Moore...so yeah...I'm rolling with Nicks.
Shakespeare 0 Posted September 23, 2011 I am _not_ a Hakeem Nicks owner nor am I a Giants fan (go Skins!). That said, I think it's a little crazy that people are talking about benching Nicks. The guy is a stud. It's true that Eli isn't a great QB. It's also true that there are fewer WR options in NY, allowing defenses to consistently double Nicks. However, Nicks has the talent and athletic ability to overcome just about everything bad about the Giants offense. see: Last week when Eli threw to the defender in the endzone and Nicks adjusted to make the TD catch. My prediction is that NY comes out running (that's how you beat the Eagles D, after all), but will eventually get Nicks envolved. Especially (as it's been said) in the red zone. Unlike last week, the Giants will be playing from behind in this game. Look for Nicks to get force fed the rock in the second half.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted September 23, 2011 Starting him for sure and expecting a big game. Im not scared of Nnamdi, Hakeem is a mismatch for him and even if he wasnt, hes their top wr and red zone beast.

I'm not a Nicks owner, but if I was, I'd read this shakespeare post before making an irrational move. Granted, I know Nicks is a little banged up, but some people are falling into the same trap that some Ray Rice owners did in Week 1. Bottom line is unless you are extremly lucky, the player you replace Nicks with will probably have the same type of game a "down" Nicks does. At the same time, there is nobody on anybody's bench (unless it's a 6-teamer or grandma's league) who has the potential to score 20-30 points like Nicks ... Nnamdi or not. Bobbyn2022 53 Posted September 23, 2011 Aso is the best corner in the league I will bet anything if ASO follows Nicks he will shut him down. If Aso doesn't follow him then nicks will have a good game but I'm telling u right now ASO is as nasty as they come and everytime Nicks is lined up against him he will shut him down. No if and or buts about it...If you have watched ASO play you know he's better then Revis andyou know nicks won't do anything. I will bet anything that anyone who follows ASO or is a raider fan that has gone to the games and seen how good he is will tell you he will lock this dude down. Traditionally, he stays on one side of the field. Nicks should get his chances, IMO.

TonyB1972 1 Posted September 23, 2011 I am not set in stone, but I am starting Branch and Steve Johnson over him atm in one of my leagues. Kind of hoping for a NE/Buf shootout.

I may have my toes curled over the edge of a high bridge Sunday night, but I'm going A.J. Green over him this week. the S.O.B. lost it for me last week by 1 point (even though I blame Eli). Plus, I know I'll be starting him the rest of the year and want to take A.J. for a ride this week.

Nicks is definately better than burelson over the course of the year no doubt, but maybe not this week!
