DaDanimal 2 Posted October 26, 2011 MJD goes out there on one good knee with a rook QB and makes the Baltimore D his B!tch. THAT's what Ray Rice never seems to do. Sure, he has a nice game here or there but I never see him on an upcoming opponent's roster and say, "Ah crap, I'm playing the Rice owner this week," like I do for Foster, ADP, McCoy, Rogers and the other usual high first rounders. Â Now for all you who are poppin' the big wood for him, lighten up. We're all entitled to not have the big for Ray Rice if we don't want to. Â It's hard to make someones D your "B!tch" when you get 8 carries
Laurence Maroney's Nuts 2 Posted October 26, 2011 This week being an aberration... if consistently getting 20 pts per week from your number 1 pick isn't enough for you, then you really need to draft better in the mid and late rounds... Â WTF do you people want seriously? You need Rice to carry the rest of your crappily drafted squad with 60 pts per week???!

Really? Â I don't think he's crap. I just don't think he's Marshall Faulk or LT when they were in their primes either. I want a guy I'm taking in the top 5 to have that potential to just blow up at any time ala Arian Foster, ADP, McCoy, etc. Multiple TDs, tons yards on offense, that sort of thing. Doesn't mean they always will but the threat is there every week. You just never seem to get that with Rice. Love on him all you want but IMO he's not all that you guys are making him out to be. Wilfork For Food 0 Posted October 26, 2011 I agree mostly with the poster above, namely in that you have to know what you're getting in Rice. You're not going to get the 40 pt outbursts that you'll see from a Foster or an ADP; however, what you will get, and what I was aiming for was a nice steady back to give me consistent output in the 15-20 range. He's done that for me all year. Â Except this week. Â This week he effed me up the butt.
NYGfan8092 0 Posted October 26, 2011 Rice is averaging more points per game than both Turner and McFadden I know. I was mocking him, sorry if that wasn't clear. I am actually a Rice owner myself, and although I am disappointed in one or two games of his thus far, I am not giving up on him and nowhere close to benching him or thinking of trading him. He's still a #1 back capable of putting up big numbers each week, despite a VERY weak Ravens offense at the moment.

TimHauck 3,311 Posted October 26, 2011 just saying you can't expect #1 pick numbers from the #3 pick, because it seems like the only guys you're saying are worthy of their draft position are the #1 picks
MDC 7,888 Posted October 26, 2011 I was regretting taking Foster at 2 overall instead of Rice, but now I see he's outscored Rice in my league despite missing 2.5 games and having serious competition at RB. He also plays on a far better team. So now I'm feeling pretty good about it.

And then Fred Jackson in round 7. And what do you know, he has MORE points than the great Ray Rice.

LOL, he's a top ranking back that consistently puts up solid points, with an occasional dud. We're not making excuses -- we are pointing out the idiocy of your inane statements...  Maybe someone should send you the link to the fftoday stats, wtf.  How bad is your middle round drafting that you complain if your #1 RB only puts up 20 ppg?
