Cause Ravens are playing so well lately? Oh ok?

You know as well as I do that none of that matters with these 2 teams. This won't be the 32nd ranked D that Ben is going against.

James Harrison is probably coming back this week. Although, I don't know if that helps them or hurts them.

Thats right, its the team that lost to Jacksonville and needed a miracle to come back at home against that juggernaught the Arizona Cardinals

This thread was started by a wishful thinking Bengals fan. Nothing to see here. Pittsburgh owes Baltimore an ass whipping. And that defense that Brady saw last week, well, that's pretty much the same straight up man-to-man Defense that Jacksonville used to kick the Ravens ass. Me thinks that Mr. Flacco may see it again, only this time with the top ranked secondary in the league doing the covering.

You're right, Ben is twice the rapist Kolb or Gabbert could ever hope to be.

I think to be a rapist, you have to be convicted of something, right? Even "alleged" is too strong at this point. Go away troll.

Not that I care either way, but no, you don't have to be convicted of something to be something. Do you really believe the above? You really think nothing happened that night? Anyways, don't want to derail topic.

You homers need to calm down. It'll be a good game, always is. The steelers right now have one of the best WR core groups right now, Miller is playing as good as ever and Mendenhall looked pretty good last week. Pitts D has played better as of late. Baltimore's D is still very good, but their offense has struggled (I know, witnessed it in person in Jacksonville, though our D is better then what we are given credit for). I give the edge to the steelers because they are playing better right now. I believe the ravens will have to create some turnovers to help out the offense. They have to make Ben uncomfortable. It should be a fun game to watch. Oh and go Wallace and go Rice!

I should also point out, he's also twice the Superbowl winning QB than everybody else starting in the league with the exception of one guy.

Ahem. Pittsburgh has only beaten 1 good team (Patriots).

On the other hand, Baltimore has beaten 3 good teams (Jets, Texans, and Steelers).

You've got to look at the trends. Baltimore loses to the bad teams because they play down to their level. When the Ravens have played a good team this year, they definitely come to play.

Gonna be closer than that Week 1 whooping in Baltimore, but I still think the Ravens return to form and eek this one out to take complete control of the AFC North.

Let's look at the trends..........Baltimore loses to jags and needed a miracle to come back against a horrible Arizona team. The good teams they beat were a distant memory.

BTW I wouldn't call the Jets a good team. They are extremely average. And didn't they play the Texans without Mario Williams and without Andre Johnson?

Call me impressed .

Week 1 was a an aberration. The Steelers and Ravens always play very wild and competitive games. With the victory vs Patriots and a revenge game in their sights, the Steelers will be out for blood in this game. I can see a lopsided score here, in favor of the Steelers.

30-10, Steelers

I think we should get back to the topic of this thread. Woodley, Harrison, and Farrior are all either out or playing injured. That's a pretty big factor. On the other end, the Ravens are relatively healthy with Ben Grubbs and Lee Evans making a possible return.

Ravens offense vs the Steelers defense is going to be a PUSH.

Ravens defense vs the Steelers offense plays in favor of the Ravens.

Ravens by no more than 3.

The loss of Farrior is an improvement. He is so slow to the ball anymore he is a liability. Woodley not playing would hurt, but Farrior not at all. He had been being benched during games all year, he is 98 years old.

but haven't we learned anything about Steeler LBs? Next man up :headbanger:.

Whether it is Worilds or Carter, I guarantee they make a play somewhere in that game that makes you go, wow there is Harrisons replacement in a couple years. Carter was being held all game he played by RT of NE, they had to cause he is so fast off the ball. If he starts he could disrupt a lot of passes as Flacco loves to take that 5 step drop and stand still. Carter is fast enough to force the perceived pressure.

My worry is that Timmons is playing out of position and doesn't generate the pressure that Woodley and Harrison, although I complete agree about Farrior. He's a great teammate and leader, but was a liability in pursuit. Carter looked good, I'm not sure about the status of Worilds, but sure would be nice to have him there. I hope Woodley recover, and it would be great to see Harrison back. But I think they have the depth to withstand this game, get thru bye week and come back healthy for the stretch run.

The Steelers might get Worilds back this week, but still won't have Woodley, Farrior, and Harrison back until after the bye week, which would be the Nov. 27th game at KC. With Worilds back, Timmons should be able to move back to the inside LB position. Worst case scenario would be that Pit changes to a 4-3 or use the 3-3-5 nickel. The next two games before the bye are against division rivals Baltimore and Cincinnati.

Harrison was reportedly at practice this week but is waiting on Dr clearance to play, even so, I'm not sure how effective he'll be after 4 weeks off...his conditioning was already suspect before due to the back surgery. Either way it's a good sign. I'm not expecting Woodley to play, but if Worilds is back, at least they have the main backups healthy.

I'm hoping they go man coverage again like they did against NE and put Taylor all over Boldin. That's a good matchup for the Steelers, even better than the Welker matchup. Taylor is big and physical and can is easily faster than Boldin. The last couple of years of draft picks is actually starting to make a difference. Gay has played very well opposite Taylor and having the experience of McFadden and the all around goodness of Lewis gives the Steelers a quietly very good secondary that can take some of the pressure off the front seven. I'd also like to see Arians take the reigns off the offense again and go no-huddle, quick controlled passing and let Ben have some of the responsibility for calls like he has. I hoping this is a different Steelers team than the Ravens saw week 1.
