Glad to see Goodson playing, even if he hasn't done anything yet. If he's the handcuff, being able to get him well into the double-digit rounds should quiet a lot of the "DMC's too risky" guys. He's not the talent Michael Bush was, but that's a lot cheaper if you really do believe DMC to be an injury risk.

1. Darren McFadden, RB, Raiders - Not only was McFadden No. 1 in fantasy points when he went down in Week 7 last year, he also finished second only to Arian Foster in points per game two years ago. You could make the argument -- and then-coach Hue Jackson did -- that McFadden had already stolen Adrian Peterson’s tailback crown before their respective mid-season injuries. I really think McFadden is worth the risk this year. Just one of those gut feelings.

 

Landed him on my auction squad. 12 team .5 PPR. I don't have a bench...but if these guys can stay healthy watch out.

I didn't have a chance to see much of the Raiders preaseason.

 

McFadden looked great to me from what I saw.

Carson Palmer does not look comfortable in the new offense. He is being asked to roll out of the pocket and throw, and he looks bad. He claims he did this at USC, but he's "less athletic" now.

I was serious about being on the DHB bandwagon...

 

 

Palmer had like the second highest YPC last year among QB's and his numbers projected out to 4400 yds passing over the entire season. He has some serious weapons there, but his problem is they haven't been healthy this pre-season and he can't get his timing down. Whoever emerges as the steadier WR will develop that rapport with Palmer, and it may be DHB.

This is a misleading stat when it comes to McFragile. Those first three seasons may look like he was fairly healthy. But in actuality he was dinged up or nursing nagging injuries in those games, which severely reduced his effectiveness and worth. THAT'S the frustrating aspect of this, that you can never get a feel for just how an injury is going to affect him. Compound that with the BS coming from the coaches.

 

I remember the late great Chick Hearn used to always have one critical point about Magic Johnson, and that was he had a very low tolerance for pain. McFadden does not deal with his injuries well, and that is why I don't trust him.

Offensive play means nothing, look at what MJD did on JAC last year. It's a huge misconception that a RB needs to be on a high powered offense to produce. Most high powered offenses are pass happy anyway.

 

Well, I doubled down on DMC this year. I weighed my options after the big three and decided to swing for the fences. I can't get passed the 2,000 total yard, 10+ TD potential, especially when OAK is planning to use him in all facets of the game this year. I'm just hoping they spell him more than they have let on.
