TennisMenace 156 Posted November 20, 2012 I feel your pain brotha. I'm the defending champion in the league with my sig, and I'm 4-7 probably not making the playoffs. I blame myself for not drafting a RB in top 2 rounds, and too many injuries: Harvin, Sproles, Hernandez, and Nicks.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted November 20, 2012 Dang this is a sad thread. I know the feeling tho, I seem to get jobbed last 2 years by strange circumstances. Last year missed playoffs due to stupid rule that we send top 3 from each division rather than 2 div winners and wild cards. Year before I left a trade offer up after it was "verbally" rejected but forgot to cancel it. Later that week the trade players value skyrocketed and he accepted the trade that was still left up. Cost me the championship. FF is just like that tho, its not how you play, its who you play and when. Those that lose 166-159 then win 77-60 know what i mean. But its good when it happens to you. uwmalcolm 74 Posted November 21, 2012 My leagues use overall points to determine the 6th playoff spot. It always seems to go to a more deserving team than if done on record. Helps cushion the blow if you seem to be barelylosing to the top scorer every week.
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted November 21, 2012 Consider it a chance to build character...just kidding. But seriously if your really living and dying by your fantasy team this much you should probably carry more than just a couple of teams and vary the players on them so that you always have a team that is competitive. You could always look at FanDuel to, they let you rebuild a team each week based on a salary cap. It's not quite as fun as drafting a team but it can serve as a week to week "fix" for the junkies. Fantasy is random man, that's part of the reason we like it. I do not take it particularly seriously. I pretty much just play for beer money, and if someone talks a lot about that, I challenge them to a $10k entry league, which is a decent chunk of change but I can theoretically afford that loss, but most people don't want to risk it and are forced to admit it's pure luck at that point. No matter how much somebody talks about fantasy being all skill, I have yet to meet somebody that's really willing to put serious money on it.
