RaiderHaters Revenge 3,594 Posted February 28, 2013 god that would be sweet. I rolled the dice in my 3 man keeper league, trading Brees and Wayne for Cam, a 1 and a
jgcrawfish 232 Posted February 28, 2013 ben just restructured his contract Big mike is not going anywhere. Me thinks you're a bit early on this declaration. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:The Steelers have completed another restructured contract, with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger signing a new deal this morning that will clear nearly $6 million of cap room for the 2013 season. Roethlisberger is the third player to have his contract restructured this week. The others are Lawrence Timmons and Antonio Brown. By restructuring, the team takes most of the player's salary and roster bonus, if any, and turns it into a signing bonus. For salary cap purposes, signing bonues are prorated over the life of the contract in equal annual amounts. With Roethlisberger's deal done, the Steelers have cleared about $14 million in cap space, right around the amount they were estimated to be over the approximate $122 million salary cap for each team. All they've done is get back to around the cap, they still have no room for Wallace, or Keenan Lewis or some of the other critical pieces of the team. There is still a lot blood-letting to be done to get to a more cap friendly place, starting with guys like Harrison, Hampton and Foote. If/when the make progress on that front, then Wallace becomes a topic again...but at this juncture he's got a much better chance of being a Panther than a Steeler. kilroy69 995 Posted March 1, 2013 The panthers are in salary cap trouble too and they have a WR in Lafell that has been evolving into at least a capable wr on the other side of Steve smiff. He took a step forward last year but it could have been a leap had cam not regressed. If cam can come out this year and move in the right direction as a qb he has the talent right now around him to do good. Steve smith, lafell and Olsen are very capable of doing good things IF they get the ball in their hands.
