GettnHuge 2 Posted April 27, 2013 I'm watching the draft, and of course the Eggles picks, and all I can say is this must be a very exciting time for all of you. I'm bored being a Cowboys fan. We've got a long way to go, but many of the puzzle pieces are established. But am I going to get excited over watching Travis Frederick fix our center position? Nah. Eggles on the other hand, wow, get your tickets (to camp) now! You get to watch Lane Johnson try to block 5 guys at once. The Eggles are decimated at the linebacker and cornerback positions. So what does Chip do in the first few rounds? Grabs a TE, DT QB and a safety. Unexpected = winning! Most teams go into camp wondering who will be the backup quarterback. Booorrriinngg. The Eggle fans are going into camps and preseason with something like 10 QBs on the roster. Lets see... Vick, dennis dixon, matt barkley, nick foles, tyler thigpen, DJ shockley, timmy chang, derek anderson, steve bellisari and JT Osullivan. Who will come out of that bunch? Who knows! If you made a movie like this, nobody would believe it! Preseason champs!!

MDC 8,074 Posted April 27, 2013 Miami wins that award I don't love the Dion Jordan pick but he's at least a 1st round talent. Frederick was a 3/4 round guy. Clowny blows it again.
nikki2200 4 Posted April 28, 2013 I don't love the Dion Jordan pick but he's at least a 1st round talent. Frederick was a 3/4 round guy. Clowny blows it again. I love how he's making fun of the Eagles draft looking at what the Boys did. That being said.... I'm not really loving it. I get the BPA philosophy. I'm just not sure I was on board with their board. I can't believe they took Ertz in the 2nd. I would have liked to see Darius Slay there. Or Manti Te'o. Go ahead and slam me for that notion. And the Barkley pick was sorta The NFL network commentators brought up a great point. Now with Vick, Barkley, and Foles (throw Dixon in there somewhere) they are all going to get limited reps in camp because there's so many of them supposedly competing for the job. I hope this means they try to trade Vick. There has to be someone who would take him? Jax? I just think that having 3 guys that are legit competing for the job is going to limit their time in camp and could end up hurting all of them. Hopefully Vick bites the dust and Foles and Barkley end up fighting it out. Not that we aren't going to suck this year, but if we are interested in building up NFL caliber QBs in the younger class, having a whole bunch of them splitting reps is not going to be good for any of them. And I just have this sneaking suspicion that Vick is going to start this year, potentially impeding progress at that position for the future due to Foles and Barkley now competing for reps. I am a little higher on the Eagles draft than you are. Lane Johnson was a smart needs pick. Ertz really does fill a need for a big red zone threat and he's a good blocker. I didn't love 3/4. I think Logan was a bit of a reach and I'd have preferred a DT in the nose tackle mold. When they got to the 4th I was hoping for Jesse Williams to fill that role. I am assuming either Foles or Vick will be traded for picks in next years draft. Barkley is very similar to Foles so fr as his skill set but I think he could be a lot better. At 4.1 though he was a real value. They did well late in the draft though. Wolff was a good late safety pick and Poyer is a steal in round 7. He would've gone in the 2/3 range if his 40 was better. This draft wasn't going to fix every problem but I think it's a class that could contribute a lot. At least we didn't take a 4th round center in the first and sign Romo to a $300 billion deal for life.
Recliner Pilot 61 Posted April 28, 2013 Pretty sure the Eagles have seen a Superbowl in the past decade. When was the last time the Cowboys saw a Superbowl? The Beagles have "seen" 47 Super Bowls. They have won Zero. Winning the SB is the goal........at least for most teams.

JT 137 Posted April 28, 2013 Ok draft. Not crazy about the Barkley pick. Guess they could have completely wasted their first rounder on a center who was projected as a 3-4 round talent, but we can't all have that foresight. Best thing I can say is that they avoided, as did most teams, selecting anyone from the POS overrated Big 10.
