montana 89 Posted August 18, 2013 It's like Christmas morning! My first real draft of the year. No more mocks. No more studying. ITS GO TIME!

5Year1 23 Posted August 19, 2013 10 Teams - .5PPR QB: Romo/Palmer RB: TRich/Ridley/Bush/Bell/Hillman/Ballard WR: Marshall/Amendola/Bowe/Givens/Gordon/Randle TE: Cameron/Housler K: Dawson D: TB Like your team. Solid #1 and #2 QBs. Biggest weak link is Ballard at RB. Looks like Bradshaw is going to start, so there isn't any value in Ballard without an injury. WRs Marshall and Bowe should be good and if Amendola stays healthy, you are in really good shape. Gordon is a good sleeper and Randle has upside especially if Nicks can't sat healthy. Don't like 2 TEs. There isn't much difference between these guys outside the top 4, so why waste a spot that can be used by another RB or WR.
We Tigers 71 Posted August 19, 2013 I haven't played a 10-team league in 5 years, so seeing one is weird to me. But yes, indeed, drafting season is upon us!

montana 89 Posted August 19, 2013 Like your team. Solid #1 and #2 QBs. Biggest weak link is Ballard at RB. Housler in the 18th....not much left at that point at rb/wr that offered anything with as much upside than him imo. Ballard as my #6 is just that - #6. Not crazy about him but seeing as Bradshaw is constantly hurt, decent potential to see a start or 5 (for the Colts). I really put a lot of stock into TRich. I'm sure I raised a ton of eyebrows taking him 3rd overall. I'd say its safe to say I was much higher on him than just about anyone. Gutsy or stupid? Probably stupid. I won't try to argue my case or be defended when I get ripped for this because I know I took a very high risk here. I guess I believe that he'll get that 300/60 that Norv has quoted. And watching his true back-up break his leg this week only solidified my beliefs. I have a huge amount of stock in him & hope he can produce like a normal Norv RB. If so, I may have the BIGGEST balls on this board. If not, I'll gladly wear my scarlet letter in my signature here (I'm the dumb arse that took TRich 3rd). I really wanted Forte in the second but he went 1 ahead of me so ridley it was. He's not exactly a ppr machine but I love his tds & yards. Marshall in the 3rd & Bush in the 4th were absolute steals in a ppr! I thought about Bush as early as the 2nd round & to have him fall to the 4th was crazy good value. If Amendola can stay healthy I expect "Welkerish" results (100 catches) & Bowe should have a good year (65-75 catches 1k 6-8 tds hopefully). I'm bullish on Givens & Gordon breaking out this year & both COULD approach Bowe-like #s. Randle rhymes with Gamble, fitting. Dawson should produce in SF & think he should be a top 5 K (big whoop). I play flavor of the week with D so taking the Bucs D really late isn't a problem: their wk.1 matchup? J-E-T-S, junk junk junk. My team will most likely live/die by the QB play (besides injuries) because of my solid depth elsewhere. We get bonuses at & after 300 yards passing. There was only 1 QB that had more 300+ yard games last year than Romo (and Miles was hurt) & I don't like where Brees was going (2nd round). Romo also had 3 400yrd games to Brees' 2. No, I'm not saying he's as good so settle down. I'm just pointing out some stats. I personally think Palmer has a shot at bettering his stats from last year. He threw for 4k & 22tds in Oakland. I'm not asking for much more than that. Hopefully 4300 25...not too much to ask, right? At -2 for INTs, both make me a little nervous at times with spotty decision making. montana 89 Posted August 19, 2013 Overall avg. Starters: QB: Romo RB: TRich RB: Ridley WR: Marshall WR: Amendola Flex: Bush or Bowe TE: Cameron K: Dawson D: Bucs (flavor of the week) I like my odds this year to return to the BIG GAME. I believe I have great depth in RBs & WRs & this will make me a tough out even with injuries. QB & TE are my weakest link but it could be worse.
