For a year and a half before Tyson fought Buster Holyfield was the man seen as the #1 contender for Tyson to fight. Tysons camp did say POST the Douglas fight that he would have been the next fight but never said that before. I wouldn't call a year and 1/2 ducking per say but during that period Tyson was livign the high life and training that hard - he knew if he were to fight Evander he would have to - and likely just wanted an easy road for a while...

 

TYson could have been much better had he not Let King talk him into getting rid of Rooney the guy that kept Tyson in check and kept him sharp.
