Is Russell Wilson worth holding onto?

He's been a real disappointment this year, with the exception of one week.

 

Think he turns it around? Or will his injuries linger?

 

I figure he'd probably have decent value in a trade, especially if I wait until he goes off some week (if it happens).

 

But, I just looked back at what he did at the end of last year, and I'd hate to miss out on those kinds of numbers.

 

For reference, his TD counts from week 11-17 were 3, 5, 3, 5, 3, 2, 3.

 

Thoughts?

He stinks for fantasy. He's Troy Aikmen. Last years finish was a total aberration.

One factor that gives me hope is that Jimmy Graham seems to really be hitting his stride this year...perhaps they'll start connecting in the end zone.

I would never drop him, unless he gets hurt. My plan would be to try and trade him for improvements at WR/RB. Maybe a package deal of some sort.

I agree with this and I probably should have given a more complete answer. I'm a Wilson and Mariota owner who will be starting Mariota this week. But I'm staying patient with Wilson.

That's a tough one to answer.

 

Of course it depends on the other owners.

 

Just need to shop him and see what the return might be.

God yes. He's going to get healthier, the line has been playing better, Graham is locked in. Lockett looked fine last week and Baldwin and Kearse are their usual selves.

 

The Hawks offense always picks up in the 2nd half. If you've been carrying him this long it would be foolish to jump off now.

Well, I would never drop him or anything. I would just use him to try and better some of my other positions, especially if Mariota were to continue to play well.

 

My main concern is that his injuries are going to linger all season. As I recall, he has both a knee and foot problem.

 

And speaking of Lockett, I drafted him as well (eventually dropped him). He only had 25 yards last week.

 

I'll hold Wilson while longer. Not even sure what his value is right now.

I traded Wilson, Fuller and Duke Johnson for Jimmy Graham, Kelvin Benjamin and Eli Manning.

 

But I do like Wilson a good deal going forward, more than Mariota. Difficult to get fair value in a trade for him.

I would recommend grabbing Wilson wherever you can. His value will never be better. Many Championship teams had him last year down the stretch.

I started Mariota in place of Wilson last week and got 10 extra points for it. However I'm loathe to sit Wilson vs the Saints in spite of the sobering blurb below...
