gocolts 300 Posted December 6, 2016 Well then, here is a great opportunity for the Geek Club collective to help a fellow Geekster out. Lets pool together and get $100.00 for him to get a tree/stand and decorations. I'll kick in $40, anyone else interested? We can just send it directly to Gary WOW. I could definitely get a tree and stuff for that. But, there are probably much more important things the geeks would want to help out with than my poor ass. THANKS bro, I sincerely appreciate you suggesting something like this.
BunnysBastatrds 2,604 Posted December 6, 2016 I'm going to end up with one of those lawns at my current pace of lights and blowup frostys and shite. Don't remember if I ever told this story before. The guy that started Popeyes chicken, Al Copeland, decorated his house every Christmas. I grew up a few blocks from him. He went all out. It was a tradition in time. My dad started decorating our house in a vain attempt to make our 2000 square foot house to look like Al's mansion. It was awesome. A lot of work, money, and headaches. It took us two weeks to put it all together. We started the day after Thanksgiving and it was done right about now. Looking back, it was some of the best times I ever spent with my Dad. At the peak of lights, figurines, roof lighting, rigging, and all the trips to the store to make it bigger, it was a site to see. Crazy SOB easily spent 40 grand on all of it within the first ten years. At one point, we had to hire an electrican to add a fuse box and extra exterior outlets justo keep up. My Mom couldn't run the drier or washing machine when the lights were on. The old electrical meter on the house was solid black when it spun. Kilowatt hours were spent quickly. And he loved it. We had Santas sleigh lead by an alligator (Cajun Rudolph) on the roof. I got gawked up one Saturday night and a brilliant idea: I took all of his white teeth out and put red ones in. Legendary sh!t in my neighborhood. At its peak, there were thousands of lights, over 200 figures, fifteen blow ups, and many smiles. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Meglamaniac 792 Posted December 6, 2016 I really appreciate that, but I can not do a real tree. I have pets for one thing. Plus, way too paranoid of it catching on fire. Again, THANKS, I really appreciate the offer man. We have 3 cats, no issues and water daily and there is no fire risk, Oh well, Merry Christmas, hope you find a way to get the tree you are looking for. Nope, no way to do a tree this year, just not in the funds. ETA: Trying to find a way to tell me son, he is not going to be happy. Parent FAIL.
