Viking14 5 Posted December 5, 2016 Do not get many chances to watch him. His style has always seemed suspect, but yesterday my conclusion was he is a below average NFL QB. He seems to need a lot of time in his decision making process. Does anyone agree?
Big Dog NJ 11 Posted December 5, 2016 Maybe those two rings keep getting in the way.
thePRO 78 Posted December 5, 2016 He's always been up and down. Makes some amazing throws and some really terrible ones. He's been pretty clutch tho. He'll probably throw for 300+ against my Cowboys this Sunday night.

I don't think there's ever been a qb who Dallas more routinely has been a millimeter of a second from sacking, then gets it off for big plays as Eli. We are always right there, about to get him - then he makes a big play on us. Freaking annoying.
stonewall 647 Posted December 5, 2016 Every year (and I mean EVERY year) there are guys talking him up before season. The "perfect" mid-round QB to grab after you have stocked up on RB and WR busts. All the weapons are finally in place. Every year he has a handful of superb FF games....and is generally a serviceable fantasy QB. However, he will also kill your team. In weeks 2-5 and week 7 (5 games), he had 2 freakin' TD's. In any competitive league, it's season over. In truth, Wilson is shaping up to be the same way....if not worse. Remember this phrase nest draft season: Never Rely on Eli

Remember this phrase nest draft season: Never Rely on Eli that's why if I don't draft a QB early, I always take two mid round types like that to hedge my bet. even if you busted on Eli this year, still could have had Stafford, Ryan, Rivers, Cousins or Carr already on your bench. I only draft one QB mid-late. Super-late this year with Capt. Kirk.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted December 5, 2016 Yup, every year he's pegged at that #8-10 spot, late QB1 kind of guy. I had him one year, never again. I will take a QB with a higher floor over him all day long.
Oriole8159 86 Posted December 5, 2016 I only draft one QB mid-late. Super-late this year with Capt. Kirk. I should clarify that and say not "mid round" mid round, but just later on in the draft once the backup QBs value becomes that much better in comparison to what else is on the board. For instance, my 2nd "mid round" QB this year was Rivers with like my 3rd to last pick. Not exactly passing up decent flex options at that point.

Yep, Rivers almost always presents decent draft value. If there are no "Capt. Kirks" out there late next year, I may just grab Rodgers or Brady early and be done with it. Woulda been a better idea than Gurly-Man!
weepaws 3,191 Posted December 5, 2016 Last two seasons he was a top ten Qb in ff points. So as a late Qb pickup in a draft he's a good play. Now for those that like to buy a Qb high and he's the one you buy , he's an awful play. Third season in a role I've had him in the same league , I go for qbs late. Also love the post about his two Super Bowl rings getting in his way.

stonewall 647 Posted December 6, 2016 I got him this year after Brady. Wasn't Eli elite just last year? Whoever had him last year was kicking a$$. He is never elite. He will have blow-up stretches, but then knock you outta the playoff hunt with his crap cycles. Always a DND for me.
Kent 228 Posted December 6, 2016 He is never elite. He will have blow-up stretches, but then knock you outta the playoff hunt with his crap cycles. Always a DND for me. It's tough to get that consistent QB for 4 weeks. Lots of variables like injury, matchups and weather. Last year he likely led a lot of people to titles. Cruzer 1,995 Posted December 6, 2016 I'd damn sure start Eli this week vs. Dallas. He's going to light us up..... Again.
