Ditloids are word puzzle, in which a phrase, quotation, date, or fact must be deduced from the numbers and abbreviated letters in the clue. Normally short words such as “in”, “an”, “the” etc. are not abbreviated. For instance 3 = C in the F = 3 coins in the fountain.
