Its a grifter that gets their way by simply being confident. But why does that even work in the first place? Because a large subset of the population has an eternal faith in authority figures. People see someone in a suit talking confidently and they assume that person knows what to do. This weakness exists across all classes of people, rich or poor. They will ignore all the horrible things happening around them, simply because the leader is confident and reassuring. Now multiply that by a factor of the government, corporations, science and education leadership all backing each other up on supporting leftist tyranny.
