Some context on what is going on.  Here is a Putin 2013 speech where he warns the path is on is Satanic and is heading towards paedophilia.

Mr Putin said Russia should avoid the example of European countries that were “going away from their roots”, by legalising gay marriage and excessive “political correctness”.

“A policy is being conducted of putting on the same level multi-child families and single-sex partnerships, belief in God and belief in Satan. The excesses of political correctness are leading to the point where people are talking seriously about registering parties whose goal is legalising the propaganda of paedophilia,” Mr Putin claimed.

The fist link is a very old speech from before the Sochi Olympics, but Putin has always been accurate in his assessment of what ails the west. No complaint there. I don't know that I have ever disagreed with anything he's said of Western culture in the modern era. Maybe. But not here.

Agreeing with him on this does not make him a good guy. We have to be aware that he comes with a whole host of other problems. He still acts like the era of colonialism never ended 80 years ago and still pursues expansionism. At the time of this article, he was still years away from invading Ukraine, but he'd already invaded Georgia and Chechnya. He orders assassinations on people in other countries, he opposes democracy and he suppresses the media. 

As for the second link, Ukraine isn't the vanguard for LGBTQ values, the culture there regarding gay/trans stuff isn't any different than in Russia. He barking up the wrong tree. This invasion is about colonial expansion (or reversing Soviet losses if you want to be nice about it) and about grabbing oil resources. This was a war of choice for Putin, anti-Nazi and anti-LGBTQ is just window dressing to sell it. He's reaping what he sewed and fock him.

It also doesn't work in reverse. 

Putin being solid on one thing doesn't compensate for his being bad everywhere else. Not only that, the focker is going to tank his economy, showing up now would imply tacit approval of the war, and it's really cold there in the winter.

Fock that sh*t. All Putin deservers for correctly diagnosing what ails the West is an A+ in American Studies 501 and a cookie.

I was using google maps to look around a russian city and it looked terrible. No diversity, clean streets, didn't see any urban campers either.
