Police office deaths rise as the black population rises.

Unfortunately this is a multi-generational issue, and each subsequent generation becomes less patient and will settle for nothing short of an immediate fix, which is impossible.  So here we sit, with one group of people saying that all we need to do is throw just one more pile of money at black people to fix the problem, and another group saying they are fundamentally and for all time unfixable, and we accomplish nothing.  :(

We just keep getting more divided.  What is particularly frustrating is how college is becoming segregated again.  I mean, I thought the goal was to eliminate looking at the color of one's skin.  Now it is becoming a defining factor as to what you can participate in or where you can go on campus.  Here is one example:

More and more segregation is happening.  But what happens when someone who can't participate in the above club starts a whites only art club?

Every black parent in America, no matter what their level of wealth, has to have the “talk” with their kids about what to do when they are stopped by a police officer, often for no good reason.

Hey, I’m white but I’ve taught my kids about what to do when they are stopped by a police officer.

That’s not a good example. Police have reasons to be suspicious in different circumstances. For instance, if my white kids are in a predominantly black area known for drug use/sales, the probability of them getting stopped or questioned is significantly increased. Let’s not be obtuse about why the talk is needed.

Is Nigeria a safe country?

There is a theory called The Subculture of Violence which points toward environmental factors unique to the US, and perhaps more prevalent in the southern regions.  Apologies in advance for the oversimplification, but it more or less asserts that within some communities violence is part and parcel and if you do not use it you are seen as weak.

So it’s the culture.  Thank you.

Obama started that with his whole black pride initiative. He thought that people shouldn't be seen as a group of Americans first, they first should be seen by their race and what they identify as outside of the American culture (specifically geared toward the black race in this case). There is absolutely no disputing that with any reasonable sense of accuracy.

Obama wanted black people to be black first, members of a culture that they claim to have come from second, and American third.

That created a resurgence of segregation because from a white perspective, we were all told growing up not to see color. Treat everyone equally. And it took time, but it was working just fine. Everyone still had their personal culture thing they took pride in, but they were expected to be Americans first. The changes in the racial divide in this country were incredible going from slavery to tolerance to acceptance to equality. That's a pretty great feat in a country this size in just 100 years time or so.

But then Obama came along and reopened the rift between races by getting all of his black voters to go along with a big "Hell Yeah".

And here we are going in reverse. :dunno:

Yes.....but, also consider this.

For a rather long time law enforcement had something akin to a zero tolerance, and municipalities did enforce the laws and in such a manner as to foment violence.  The people in these communities knew there was zero tolerance, and there was not enough leeway afforded for minor stuff.

Now to deal with that we recently saw the pendulum swing too far in the opposite direction, and stupidly there was vilification of police.  That appears to be softening a bit.....and some return to sanity could be true in the near future, but there will remain people who operate based on hate. And that hate will have them continuing to vilify police.
