What obligation do you feel when invited to graduation parties?

Recommended Posts

Or other events?

I usually get invited to one, maybe two graduation parties each year.   This year has been overwhelming.  Kid of a friend in a service club.   Kid of a co-worker.  A second-cousins kid, kid of a 1st cousin once removed...

And i have a daughter graduating and didn't invite any of them.   Just young l going out and getting cards and figuring out how to get them each $10 seems like a lot of work.  And I'm busy as fock.

:dunno:

Ten dollars? Why not just give them some coupons?

These kids have no idea who I am.   So let's just drop a couple hundy to make them feel good?

I think there’s a sweet spot between 10 bucks and a couple of hundred. But If you do give them ten bucks they’ll know who you are.

I'm saying I literally have 5, that I don't feel all that connected to.   So $50 as a go to I'm dropping $250.

$50 is our go to.

Same here....  If I actually have a connection to the graduate.

Unfortunately it sounds like cmh is in a no man's land of just being invited due to tangential connections with the parents.

We just remember the parents who do this as being people we would love to throw a $50 in a card and not have see them again.
