I do not have a backdoor neighbor, behind my house is a creek/bayou that does contain alligators. I have even seen alligators behind my house, although it has been a couple years.

Do you know what I do not worry about.

I live in SC, I've seen gators scale small walls, fences on porches, etc. Then we eat them.
