Fantasy Geek Balls League - Vote

I created a league on ESPN with the following changes/suggestions.

1. No divisions - top 6 best teams make the playoffs

2. QB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLX, FLX, K, Def

3. draft date/format has not been set yet. 

4. No negatives for defense points/yards given up (we may have done this last year)

5. No negatives for fumbles - Also done last year I think. 

Take a look, make suggestions and vote.

Right now, yeah. I don't remember if it was this league or my other one where we decided to do away with those negatives. I can add back if it is wanted.

I don't either, but a few said they hated them. I think meeting in the middle and doing 2 divisions is the way to go.

FG: 1-29= 3pt (decimal after that)... ie 43 yd fg would be 4.3 pts

no negative for missed fg

scoring for PA and YA should be adjusted (maybe highest pts are capped at 10 or 7)

I kind of thought you were going to do 5 or so polls in the topic to cover the proposed changes. 
apparently you just started a league on ESPN with various settings we didn’t even have last year like defensive points based on yardage?

I am also in the camp of being used to and liking three divisions. People wanted no divisions last year because Yahoo had some goofy tie break stuff that came into play so it was suggested we just scrap divisions. I recently renewed the yahoo league because without divisions, there really isn’t a need to switch to ESPN. Switching is fine though. 
 

but again I thought we were simply voting on 2 RB versus an extra flex, entry fee, weekly payouts for high team versus staying at a standard 1st 2nd 3rd.

There should be nothing for yards allowed. 

decimals for field goals? Good lord. 

-1 for interceptions to go along with 0 for fumbles?

Its all preliminary. Everyone say what they want and I will change or we can scrap it all and start from scratch. Just trying to get it set up in advance so we aren't scrambling at the deadline like last year.

Appreciate the effort but isn’t renewing the yahoo league, as I did, getting it set up?

I will play on yahoo and promise not to complain, but I HATE yahoo fantasy football. It looks like an old geocities website.

Technically a QB is already missing points by not completing a pass when he throws an interception too 

again I don’t care about negatives for missed kicks. Just saying.

Yeah I mean that wasn’t my point though. Just saying we wouldn’t be scrambling. ESPN or Yahoo was another of the 5 or so proposed changes in the other thread

I wouldn’t call 100 and 200 bonuses standard by any means. Again we didn’t have them last year. We will obviously have varying opinions about rules and scoring but I assumed the base would be last years league and what we might want tweaked. There had been no

I am 100% okay with getting rid of all bonus stuff. I thought we had it last year, but I can delete it no problem

jesus.  I have not played with yardage bonuses for 20-25 years  and am not really in favor of them.

 

My point was that I doubt that BL intentionally added these scoring rule to our league, rather just set it up.

 

 

If we are actually going to use ESPN, we should examine the settings.

No need to bang your head against the wall. You suggested the ESPN league was set up with standard settings and minor adjustments. Yardage bonuses are not standard is all I was saying (and BL added them, as I suspected) 

If we switch to ESPN, it’s logical to initially set it up exactly as Yahoo was last year and make changes based on your proposals and votes, no?

suggesting either 3/5/7, or decimal

 

preference is no ding for the missed fg, but will go with the flow

i don't think he was intentionally trying to alter everything at set up.

 

Edit:  I think he was just trying to take some initiative to get the ball rolling and was willing to adjust based on owner preferences.

I was reviewing and have been listing scoring rules that i thought would be up for debate.
