Superflex Advice

Recommended Posts

Going to be joining a Superflex league this year.

I've never done one before so my question is: For those that have done them- what is your best strategy with them?

I would get a QB early. If you can play both QBS at the same time even the least valuable QB is going to put up fantasy points. There WILL be runs on QBS like you have never seen. Stock up on quality backups for trade bait. Take 3 if you can. Even if the last one is a high upside backup.

Yes, this. In my experience QBs are very valuable but some people are slow to adjust to that reality. Stockpile them. High end WRs are also valuable. RBs are not as valuable and these are definitely the leagues where you look hard at a “zero RB” strategy

Be prepared as if Mahomes will go top 5, Josh Allen in the 1st rd, and Hurts and L. Jackson in the 2nd.

I'd go QB/QB then focus on WRs. There's a lot of decent mid round running backs. You don't need to overpay.

Is this a 10 or 12 team? You can be a little more creative in a 10 team but in a 12 team grab your QB very early because they'll be gone early

It is not a dynasty- first year it is running and will be a redraft every year.

10 teams

I would go even harder on the top tier of QB's in a 10 man. Your draft should look like this. QB/QB/WR/WR/TE/WR/RB/RB/RB. You are going to be shocked how many productive players will be left on the waiver wire in a 10 man superflex. Your last picks should be high upside backup qbs

This exactly!

QB's will go early and often.  while QB dropoff isnt huge, the fact you can use QB as a flex (which may vary depending on how many flex spot you guys have) means you should take at least 2 QB in the first 3 rounds.  The point advantage in this format is significant.  if you can flex multiple QB, then you want to keep taking QB until all your flex spots are covered or until the top ranked WR or RB available is projected to get similar points to the top ranked QB on the board.

in a 12 team draft every QB that is currently listed as a starter should be taken in this draft as well as a handful of the top backups

in a 10 teamer all starting QB will likely be taken.   I doubt any backups will be rostered unless you are flexing out a lot of spots.
