Baker Boy 1,699 Posted August 21, 2023 It is sad that the west coast can’t handle a tropical storm. And drought stricken California continues to let millions upon millions of gallons of freshwater flow into the Pacific.

While they let people shlt in the streets, give them drugs, while they live in tents on the side of the road.

If they aren’t smart enough to capture and use the excess moisture then screw ‘em. Just proves climate change is bogus.

I can imagine that if they were more frequent, we'd have better prepared for them...but at the same time we are famous for earthquakes and our cities don't have the right infrastructure for those either. Who knows.

Who knows. Southern California is pretty much a desert region and tropical storms are a once in a century occurrence (last one to hit L.A. was in 1939). I will bet they are making a bigger deal and whining a lot more about this tropical storm than they did 1939. If the last tropical storm was in 1939, why are people today blaming it on MMGW?

By the accounts I have seen things have gone as well as possible when the most rainfall ever recorded hits a massive area. No deaths, no major injuries. People were prepared and knew what to do for the most part. Dodged a bullet and people did their part.

I have 3 brothers in california from north to south, and they all said, yeah, no big deal. The dog park has a bunch of water but that's about it.

It’s kind of relative - some areas in the state received most rain ever recorded in a day. But yeah it seems things are ok which is great. Even put out a wildfire near SD. Hopefully it makes it up to Eastern WA and does the same. Not sure why this is all so controversial, why people are upset, etc.
