mattman7168 34 Posted September 11, 2023 Williams sounds intriguing. He was hyped big last year but never really played. Had a big game yesterday but was it a fluke? Not to hi-jack the thread but I also lost Dobbins for the year in a dynasty league. After the ACL and now the achilles, I am considering dropping him outright. We don't have IR spots and although rosters are somewhat bigger at 20 players, I don't want to waste it on him if he's unlikely to come back to form next year. Too many injuries and achilles is supposedly harder for RBs to come from.

Showboat 152 Posted September 12, 2023 I would agree with others, that he's a long shot. You are kind of counting on medical advances saving the day. I'd say there is a decent chance he comes back and in time for camp next season (Akers had his achilles injury in the summer and played in the post-season so that kind of timeline would not be unprecedented). The big question is if he will be the same player (and even if he is, will some other injury pop up as he has been injury prone). If you have 20 deep rosters, that 20th spot would seem to be a lottery ticket no matter what - Dobbins might not be a bad lottery ticket to hold for now. I'm assuming you can always drop later if something you like better comes along.
