Dang, never heard of this. I already avoid drafting people with histories of Jones fractures and Lis-Franc injuries, this sounds similarly bad.  :(

Joe Burrow provides update ahead of 2024 season

Tayyib About 4 hours ago 2 min read

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has provided a positive update on his injury recovery.

Burrow saw his 2023-24 season beset with injuries. A pre-season calf injury impacted Burrow's September performances before a torn wrist ligament ended his season.

Burrow's injury ended Cincinnati's Super Bowl hopes. The Bengals finished bottom of the AFC North with a 9-8 record.

It was the second time Burrow saw a season end prematurely with injury. An ACL injury curtailed Burrow's rookie season.

The Bengals have reached a Super Bowl and an AFC Championship game in Burrow's fully fit seasons. They will be keen to return to those big games in 2024-25.

Burrow's fitness is critical to those hopes. Speaking to ESPN at a charity event on Sunday, Burrow was positive. The 27-year-old said, "Over the next month [to] month and a half, we'll kind of decide all those things. I think the middle of May is when I expect to be cleared for full contact and everything.

"I can lift normally now, which I'm excited about. So the next two months, I'll just do what I've done for the last couple of years. Just the 12 weeks of extra work in the rearview."

Burrow also stated that he wants the Bengals to bring in top players for another Super Bowl push, saying, "We need to bring in the right pieces this offseason too, whether it's the draft or free agency."

The last time Burrow returned from a season-ending injury, the Bengals won the AFC Championship. Will a healthy Burrow do it again in 2024-25?

Lifting during ACL rehab isn't that big a deal; it's the lateral movement that takes time.  I presume it is similar with this injury -- lifting isn't throwing.

Anyway, if this story is completely debunked I'll reconsider, but as of now I'll presume somebody will place more value on him than I will.

Hopefully everyone is leery of him this fall in my auction draft. I'll jump on it and have him and my keeper Anthony Richardson as a great 1-2 punch. Couple injured guys coming back healthy can win fantasy championships.
