Mike Honcho 5,281 Posted October 20, 2023 My boss thinks it's hysterical that I buy tuna in water, then when I make a tuna salad add olive oil to it. Whatever - I'm Mike Honcho, this is who I am.

Veg oil is nasty and crap for ya. as for tuna sriracha like I mentioned or mayo but mostly eat it plain.

If it helps, I drain the oil from the can before dumping it in a bowl and mixing with some mayo, but you still get some oil which makes the tuna less dry and flavorless.
BeenHereBefore 1,524 Posted October 20, 2023 When the grocery store has a sale on tuna all the ones in water are gone quick but the oil ones are almost fully stocked. It's like the candy corn crap and fruit cakes that everyone hates. Must be a select few besides Gutter who eats it is all I can figure.

wiffleball 4,790 Posted October 20, 2023 In the summer months, I use a good 30 weight. But about this time of year, I switch to a synthetic. Hope I don't void the warranty.
TommyGavin 790 Posted October 20, 2023 I make tuna Mac and I add quality olive oil. But I buy the tuna in water. Drain the water before adding it to Mac salad.

wiffleball 4,790 Posted October 20, 2023 One of the reasons I like the packets. Man, I hope they got some sort of industry award for that

Man, I hope they got some sort of industry award for that They are ok but expensive and don't give you nearly as much tuna as the can. I already have enough condiments at home to use on can tuna if I want.
