supermike80 1,904 Posted November 16, 2023 I remember when I saw it in the theatre when it came out I didn't care for it much. I mean it was Ok, but nothing that awesome. Was kinda bored the last couple nights with no good sports on so decided to rewatch it. Absolutely loved it the second time. Joe Pesci was so good. Weird how that happens. wiffleball 4,790 Posted November 16, 2023 I don't know. It just seemed to drag for me. Plus, it was like we'd seen everyone of those actors in similar roles for the last 40 years. And that dude was clearly not irish.
Hardcore troubadour 15,402 Posted November 16, 2023 Not funny and a terrible soundtrack. And too long.

frank 2,302 Posted November 17, 2023 The first time I saw The Departed, I thought it was ok but way too long. It gets better every time I watch it.
