nobody 2,673 Posted March 30, 2024 I don't watch baseball, but I was watching Moneyball the other day and the manager was played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman and he looked absolutely ridiculous walking around in a baseball uniform. It got me wondering why they wear uniforms to begin with.

MDC 7,429 Posted March 30, 2024 I think it’s hilarious to make a 60-y/o man dress like a little boy.

weepaws 3,193 Posted March 30, 2024 I believe from learning the history of the great game, that in the early days of baseball, they didn’t have a on field manager, they were called a captain, and that he was a regular player and the leader of the team, but called the teams captain. Sounds good to me. Thanks.
